Every night 2 minutes is an invasion. PvP is optional.

Fix't.

Would be cool if they've got some spawn scaling code to handle for the # of players.
They mentioned quite a bit about changing the slime's spawn rate, but spawn scaling would be interesting too.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

I believe they also mentioned in one of the videos that on blood moons (whatever those are) monsters, or at least zombies, could break down doors. Those might make for interesting nights to test one's defenses.

By the way is the game focus only on PvP?

I wish they make PvE awesome, like invasions etc so building a fortress/traps has a meaning.
There is plenty of PvE things, have a look at...

Provided that's all that changes, true. They didn't go into details. Could be doors aren't the only thing they can knock down. On the other hand, it could be just that easy to fully seal yourself in. Hence my saying it might be interesting.

I think it'd be awesome if they could bust through your walls and just wreck up the place every now and then, giving you a reason to actually defend the place.

Regardless, I'm quite looking forward to this, myself.

I'm hoping for more of that too. Still, if the guys who made the game can barely make it 30 feet if they let spawns build up, it might be ok if they're not bashing down your walls all the time.

Also just having different enemies, ala Trolls in DF, might solve the issue. Like Ghosts!

(PS-We need the Terraria devs to post up in here :P)

I think they said a blood moon just increases spawn rate of the zombies, and a completely different monster altogether can break down doors.

No, I think they said it specifically about zombies - something along the lines of "they just knock, but on blood moons they actually start opening doors, or kicking down doors".

Also, walling in isn't 100% defense. Burrowing enemies, remember?

Which I'm guessing are stopped by stone built floors. So. :P

They were not stopped by natural stone, so I don't think so.

They mentioned early on the need for building floors. And the only time a worm was seen in the house, iirc, it was when it was without floors. And since "back walls" stop spawns there, I'm guessing floors serve a similar purpose.

Yeah floors will probably serve a purpose, but they will either need to work on the worm so it digs through the dirt or say bricks can stop worms and have placed rock be rock bricks.

I just imagined, what if they made it rain? Like, actual rain and water levels? Huge waterfalls going underground, flooding....it would probably murder the processor, but it seems easily possible to mock up and see what happens.
