What I want them to do is make so you automatically set up one block ladders. Having to jump when you could simply raise your leg and step up is silly.

I would like to see diagonal "ramp" blocks.

Well, ladders would require more sprites. Then again, Red Yoshi is involved, so that might be less of a problem that anybody could predict. Ramp blocks would be nice, not having to jump all the time, just running up stuff.

It will also allow a nice sloped roof over buildings.

Stairs would be nice for that tower I'm going to eventually build. Make the stairs behave the way they did in the old castlevanias of the nes days. Come to think of it, I might just break out the old nes emulator and play old school castlevania and metroid to pass the time till June.

I don't have time... so I searched for metroid speed run videos  :P

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

I'm playing emulators half the time anyways, but no, I haven't broken mine out just for Terraria.

You know I just noticed something. Bombs cause the Background Dirt to be removed if used near the surface and downwards............

Big ol' Q&A here.

Quote
[18:02] <Tiy> [23:52] <MDSDude3> will there more hair styles?
[18:02] <Blue> you think hes kidding, but hes not, he actually suggested that.
[18:02] <Blue> lol
[18:02] <Blue> There are already about 14 hair styles
[18:02] <Tiy> There are already a lot more hairstyles since the LPs, I'll add a whole bunch more too
[18:02] <Tiy> Afro, Mohawk and Emo are already in there
[18:02] <Blue> thats 11 more than the LPs youve seen offered
[18:03] <Blue> and so is Dwarflike and bald

Quote
[18:09] <Tiy> [00:00] <Pariah> Have you adopted the philosophy quality over quantity? I don't want to see all these items added in without new gameplay or new challenges to obtain them and they maintain their usefulness.
[18:10] <Blue> We are adding items to math the locations you find them
[18:10] <Aavri> math?
[18:10] <Blue> this means their usefulness will also be based on the difficulty of the areayou obtained them
[18:10] <Blue> Match*
[18:10] <Blue> lol
[18:10] <Tiy> Great question, we've tried to make obtaining every one of these items just as fun as using it, we never just throw items into the game, we know that item hunting is a huge part of the gameplay and to facilitate that they have to be well hidden :)
[18:11] <Tiy> Often new items require multiple other items to obtain

Quote
[18:01] <Tiy> [23:49] <DevilDraco> Some people consider the death penalty to not be harsh enough, saying that money is essentially worthless based on what they saw in the LP's. Is there more you can spend your money on later in the game to make avoiding death to save money worthwhile?
[18:01] <Tiy> The death penalty can be pretty damn harsh, Money has a lot of uses in Terraria, and losing your stash hurts :(
[18:01] <Blue> We plan on making money have its equal worth to gameplay.
[18:01] <Blue> and many items are only obtainable through means of purchase
[18:02] <Tiy> that said, along with configurable death penalties I plan to bug Redigit to add a Hardcore mode, in which your character will be deleted when you die
[18:02] <Tiy> Think Roguelike!
[18:02] <Blue> When/if guards are added, we may impliment needing to pay them to keep them guarding your home

Quote
[17:52] <Tiy> [23:39] <Lazure> do you intend on adding any features to better represent females? either through female sprites, female pain sound, or a way to 'hide helmet' when wearing one so the hairstyle is at least always visible?
[17:52] <Blue> Characters of one penatly type will most likely be coded to only work in worlds of the same penatly type
[17:52] <Tiy> There are already a bunch of sprites in game that allow you to make female characters, it's something we definitely want to support.
[17:52] <Blue> The female pain sound is in the works now
[17:52] * Blue slaps Redigit.
[17:52] <Blue> I remind him every day to add it. lol

Oh yea, I finished it back in the 90's, but it is still one of the best side scrollers ever on the NES.
