A little help? When I start playing, my G key keeps... Pressing itself, I keep grasping the air/picking up items. It even happens when I generate a new character. It doesn't happen in Cataclysm or DF, so I think it's a bug with the game, but I can never be sure.

That is weird. Try re-downloading. Could be corrupted files.

Also, I think spacebar acts as a pickup action.

Yup, it's weird. Happens to me sometimes too, but usually with the movement keys. I think what you're supposed to do is try pressing the "stuck key", but it's been a while.

Well, I started ap farming in the void for speed some couple months or so back and today I finially finished it for my lil girl. It just took me numerous rl breaks and this thread getting bumped to remind me of elona. And cause everyone loves a screenie.

That feel when someone else's little girl has all higher stats than you. (except mana!!!) I wish my pets were about as strong as me, but when I have them out, they're all either much stronger or weaker than I am. Out of curiosity, have you gene engineered any body parts onto her?

And that reminds me of how funny Elona's measurements can be. She's 21, just over 4 feet tall, and..... 30 pounds. She has more inches of height than pounds. Heheh.

I really should play a little more Elona, but I don't know where to put all these rods. I can't bear throwing them away. I mean, they're precious Itzpalt offerings, and it'd be a bit of a waste to just sell them or drop them, so I try to use all their charges first. Of course, I probably have enough hoarded like a packrat to get all the rewards at once... If only I had more faith.

I've done kind of the same thing to jewelry, bows, and guns, just grabbing all the cheap trash weapons/rings I can get and throwing them on the Truce Ground's floor.

Only gene engineered some extra skills in. If you give a lil girl any extra body parts they get the "body is complicated penalty" that mutants eventually get. And that takes a chunk out of their speed.

As for elonas odd measurement system... can't do much about that. *shrugs*

Ah yes, forgot about that penalty. I thought it was at 15 slots but turns out it's at 13, or the default. Whoops.

You can also stash them in the bandit dungeon after you clear it. Your ranches and farms can be used to store a bit of stuff. If you get a spare wish, a dungeon can hold a lot of items. The more expensive option is to buy up/down stairs from the yearly festival. That effectively doubles your house's capacity.

Sorry for the late reply, but thanks, it works now. On a side note, what's the changelog for the new version 1.35R2?

Didn't even know there was an Elona thread here. On the previous page there was a question about the uses for the final god gifts. Here's me two cents going from the most useful to most useless we have:

Aureate Constricter (Yacatect) - since the minimum transaction value needed to improve Negotiation is (NegotiationLevel+10)^2 it's very hard to improve it past 80 and onward. HOWEVER the NegotiationLevel in the formula DOES count enchantments including negative ones. This item makes it infinitely easier to level negotiation and charisma. Take note the bonus for workshiping Yacatect is counted after this arifacts so you can end up with above 0 effective Negotiation.

Sasumata (Ehekatl) - a weapom that can't kill even the weakest enemies means infinite staff, evasion, greater evasion, eye of mind, stranght, stamina training. Just hold down the button (or use something to do that for you). Theoretically you can get simmilar results by damaging your weapon with acid enough times, but it would take forever.

Fetter of Earth (Opatos) - the speed malus is plain terrible...unless you want to grind AP at high speed. AP grinding requires your speed to be lower than your opponents. Might want to workship Lulwy to have a bit more than 10 speed though.

Magic Canceler (Itzpalt) - helps with leveling offensive spells by both reducing casting propability (it will eventually reach 100% from levels anyway, but...) and decrising the ammount of dice rolls.

Wheel of Fortune (Ehekatl) - Control magic gets more exp when you actually hit your pets, so this can be a speedy way to raise it, but more importantly hitting 10+ pets with strong ball spell trains your Magic at a decent rate. The problem is to make sure not to kill your pets.

Tempest Coller (Lulwy) - mostly useful to train armor skills since they go up faster if you get hit so having 0 evasion and greater evasion speeds that up quite a bit (just don't die).

Mechanical Binder (Mani) - no criticals means more normal hits per enemy means more weapon EXP, though I think it's better to rust some unwanted piece of whatever weapon you're using to -10 or lower.

Green God Thorn (Kumiromi) - slower HP, MP regen means more EXP to regeneration, meditation, but it's easier to level regeneration by carrying too much and droping it near death and casting spells.

I've also recently completed North Tyris questline. Would anyone be interesed in a VERY rough synopsis of the South Tyris story as I go? My Japanese is kinda so-so'ish (especially with the constant use of Old Japanese in this game), but I could give it a try.

A story synopsis, no matter how rough, would be excellent. I have a bit of a rough idea of how it starts and ends, but beyond that I'm completely lost.

About rust/acid damage to weapons, I don't think it goes lower than -10, but I've never had anything get that low before. Theoretically just -10 shouldn't be that bad, but you never know.

Good thinking on the uses, by the way, especially the Fetter of Earth and AP. I never would have thought of those.

On a side note, does anyone know how to delete custom NPCs? I went in a moongate map, screwed around a bit with the splitting enemies there. When I came back to the real world and started a sick dad quest, the NPC I had to escort was one of the NPCs from the map. I imagine there's some sort of npc file somewhere that I'm supposed to delete, but I don't know where to start looking.

Not sure about the NPC's, but there is a knpc file in the save directory (custom is written with 'k' in japanese) so maybe you could delete/overwrite it with a clear data.

I'll try to post what I understand (or think I understand) from the plot as I go. This might be slow at times because I enjoy this game too much to rush it 8).

Those are some good uses for some otherwise seemingly worthless items.

Aureate Constricter (Yacatect): If the negotiation skill really does work like that, that'd be an awesome way to train it.

Sasumata (Jure): Good easy way to train polearm then. There are a couple of decent polearms out there including Jure's own Holy Rance, which could benefit greatly from this.

Fetter of Earth (Opatos): I thought the wiki said the formula for ap gain ran off base speed, though it did mention there was a bonus in it that did rely on current speed provided you passed the other checks still. Guess I'll have to go look up the formula again.

Magic Canceler (Itzpalt): While you could use it for magic training, it is still one of the more useless ones. A simple sandbagged enemy serves the same purpose and is far easier to obtain. But the goal was to find an actual use for these items and this is one.

Wheel of Fortune (Ehekatl): Definately a good use. Don't see any problems here.

Tempest Coller (Lulwy): Again not much to add here. The extra pv from leveling armour skills is rather negligble but it does add up after awhile. Though between the passive training of just wearing it and traveling skill boosts, would probably save getting this artifact for last or 2nd to last.

Mechanical Binder (Mani): See Jure, except its for everything else.

Green God Thorn (Kumiromi): Nothing to say here, that you didn't already say.

Definately some creative uses for these, but I'm probably still not going to go out of my way to get these. *shrugs*

Edit: Some corrections were made.

Thanks. I tried deleting the file entirely, and the save still seems to work, so I think we're good. Of course I kept a backup just in case, though.

Magic Canceler (Itzpalt): While you could use it for magic training, it is still one of the more useless ones. A simple sandbagged enemy serves the same purpose and is far easier to obtain. But the goal was to find an actual use for these items and this is one.
There's a problem with that: in Elona+'s later versions, just being near sandbagged NPCs eliminates skill gains. I can confirm this for 1.30, as when I was shooting and cursing a trapped bear, nothing was going up.

This raises another question: what are sandbags even good for now?
