In +, using a Scroll of Return in Noyel during a Before It's Too Late took 10 karma. Is this because of the quest or some other reason?

It net me about 40k gold for going to Derphy though, for 5 minutes of work. Not bad!

Speaking of which, these Seven League Boots and Aurora Ring are doing wonders for my wealth. I just do the longest delivery/escort that isn't Before It's Too Late (since those are difficult to do through all that snow, even with the two items), and get 10-30k gold each. Do missions on the way back (Derphy->Palmia, for example), and then walk back to Noyle.

You're not supposed to use return scrolls during quests. That was in vanilla too, I think.

Okay, I might stick with it.

Anything new in + that makes other things more awesome than before?

The 1.08 comes with a good one... NPCs (not sure if limited to ones in town) are no longer affected by random teleport. No more hunting down that elusive quest giver or delivery target!

Also, does evolution change the look of things?

I wasn't able to try this out yet. I suspect (posted earlier) that the expensive evolution hearts for sale in the festival is related to this.

Lucky Day buff and a blackjack table are so awesome. You can pretty much keep hitting and never lose (unless you do something at particularly high numbers. Even at 17 or so you still have a pretty nice chance of getting the card you want though.

Also, what does 'Blank Business Card' do? I have one from...somewhere I forgot, I had no internet when I got it. But it lets you select someone nearby. Not sure if it is a + thing, can't find it on the  wiki.

ONLY gamble when you get that buff. It's a lot easier to get the potions of cure corruption rolling in, along with other stuff that isn't as cool.

The Business card is an Elona+ only item. Using it allows you to rename your (or any other NPCs) class on the character menu (Your original class's bonus stays). There's also the "Forbidden Meat" item that swaps your gender and the Philosopher's Stone Mask that lets you rename your race.

Oh, I also got a special item; if you wish for the god you're currently following and talk to them, they drop a special artifact item.

I've just acquired my first living weapon. A shotgun, from some random adventurer. All he wanted for it was one potion of cure corruption. The only problem is that I rely on having a range advantage for this character (the other problem is not having Ehekatl's feat for min-maxing purposes). But who cares! Into storage it goes until I have that feat... and I guess she's the next god I worship. Too bad, I was gonna pick kumiromi.

(This character is a Gunner. If only it had been any other type of gun...)

I found 3 Big Daddies on three consecutive levels... in a level 1 Safe Dungeon.  :o

Now I'm going to hurry back and fetch some balls, and see if I got what it takes to fight them.

Edit: No... too early. Only got him down to 20% HP. :-[

I think the crafting skills are highly worth it now... besides already mentioned overpowered fusion recipes, all the required skills (fusion recipes can require 1-4 other crafting skills among those I can see) can produce good stuff.

This is what my < 2 Tailoring created, among a dozen pairs of shoes:

Is this Elona+?

If so, does it have a full english translation? Or at least something that won't confuse me?

I think so. Most of the new content isn't translated, but luckily most of the new content doesn't need translating, and is mostly tweaks. Dunno about the translation status crafting thing kcwong's doing, but I'm sure if push came to shove he could throw up a short tutorial, considering it'd prolly consist of "Go to this dude, select the top option, select the top option, middle option, enter".  :P

Yes, it's Elona+ 1.08. It's not fully translated yet, but the untranslated content are mostly in South Tyris (yes Plus added South Tyris). Since you won't be able to gain access to South Tyris until you've beat the vanilla main quest, Elona+ is very good for us non-Japanese speakers.

For North Tyris untranslated stuff, there is a new guy outside the Cyberdome, and a female master in the Dojo (a new location where you pay to leave your pet behind to train). The Dojo master is easily figured out; I couldn't get any real reaction out of the guy. I heard he's only relevant after you gain access to South Tyris.

So yeah, go Elona+ now!

For the crafting stuff, it seems Elona+ enhanced vanilla's crafting skills (tailoring, jeweler, carpentry, alchemy), and added a new crafting mode: fusion.

First you buy/find a fusion pot (looks like a black cauldron with white gooey stuff inside, the kind a witch would use). Then you use it and get a page of recipes. The recipes require a bunch of items (some quite rare), and often a combination of skills (tailoring, jeweler, carpentry, alchemy, cooking, gardening, gene engineering).

It seems there are a lot of recipes, but they only show you as your crafting skills increase. So far I'm only able to make mysterious diaries and fake gold bars. I'm trying very hard to increase my skills and finding materials... I'm dying to find out what this can do:

Also, there seems to be new actions you can use. I must have missed the announcement when I received it, so I have no idea what skill this is based on:

(I'm a Claymore with medium armor, using nothing but a claymore, throwing and firearms for combat, with a heavy focus on crafting skills.)

But I can't argue with the results:

When I pay money to identify this feather hat, it says I require a higher identification skill. What's up with that?
