Becoming a thieves guild member is the only guaranteed way to get disguise kit. You can see disguise kits in shops from time to time but it's rare.

Shouldn't be all that rare in my experience. Maybe 1/100 or 1/50 materials you find will be one. Just a guess on my part, though, and the RNG could be screwing you over.

That's why you savescum moongates. So much variety, like this creepy Alt-Palmia where some people are out to get you.

Can you easy savescum? Like can I exit out if i die and it will be as if it never happened? Or do I have to copy the save folder?


Also, I fond a Girl's diary. I can get a young lady as an ally and she can cast healing and support spells...However she also throws potions. Random ones. And I can see all my allies dieing to puddles of poison acid and fire. (EDIT: Wow you guys are fast)

Yeah, I think if you click the X or end the process, it'll reload from when you went down or up stairs, entered town, that kind of thing. It's a lot easier than copying save folders.

I think there might be a version wherein finding chips is broken. Not 100% sure on that.

Alright, dl'ed it and have played it for about a day or so....

I managed to get to level six, and I found three <item's> along the way, one of which was cursed with the "It disturbs your growth ####"
Naturally, the wiki has told me that these items are valued for keeping your level down but it caused teleportation every now and again (migitated with a necklace of silence I found) and caused a shitton of 'malicious hands' to take the ten thousand coins I had accumulated, and it basically turned down from there.

Those negative properties are independent of an item's blessed/uncursed/cursed (BUC) status. And item being cursed or doomed will generate more and more negatives (and even spread to other items), but if you uncurse the item fast, you may end up with an item with just the "disturb growth" ability. Then it will be great.

I'd never heard of cursed properties spawning over time on cursed items, and especially not spreading to other items. I figured they just came on some pre-cursed items, and were static after that. Also, you should be able to get rid of doomed with a blessed scroll of uncurse, I think. Failing that, Mix it with holy water.

It's weird coming back to this game after all this time. I've started over and I'm doing the "fail horribly" part all over again.

I saw someone talking about how the new quest in the Ore Hack version isn't translated. That's something you can edit without touching the source code, thankfully. If you add these lines or something similar to the board_oh.txt file in your data folder, it should fix it:

Some of the map name for the dungeon is still in Japanese though, and I'm not sure how to fix that. But at least you can tell them apart from other quests now.
