It's only -10 if you use it anywhere besides a town. I don't know if parties count as towns, though.

Karma penalty is easy to deal with if you have the secret treausure of the wicked.

Towns have bigger maps than parties. I don't know the radius of a nuke explosion but I guess you might survive it if you dig far enough. Also you can't stay for eternity there. There is a timer.

In 1.22 I've been having a hard time finding Yen coins and casino chips.  Anyone else have this problem?

I found after my 1st puppy cave exploration a laser gun on the ground, never bothered with them up to now, so i took it and understood after equipping that it needs ammo that i don't have obviously.

So wanting to drop that to re-equip my bow, i noticed the "dreadfull" mention next to the item, and ... i can't unequip it (great for a character i invested all his points in Luck at chargen :D ).

The problem is that each few turns i'm now randomly teleported, and it's rather annoying as you can imagine.
As i'm very early (reached just level 3) , should i just create another character, or is getting an uncurse scroll easy in this game at such low level and rather low amount of gold ?

Did you use the scroll of vanish curse from the tutorial already?

If one of that gun's effects is "disturbs your growth" then it's awesome.  If not, try to get rid of it.  Two holy water will do the job.

Don't use scrolls of uncurse. They won't work, as MoM said, you'll need a vanish curse scroll

Or you could go the easy way and get an equip that stops teleporting, but that stops the good kind of teleporting too.

Yes, i had a girdle that was cursed by a dream (really i begin to question if investing points in luck is really an advantage) that the tutorial scroll managed to get rid of it.

Fortunately, after lots of puppy cave death (can't believe the hundred of enemies on the 1st floor, the curse attract them) i finally read a scroll that apparently was the one i needed as the curse disappeared from that pistol (that didn't seemed to have anything good for it).

I'd just start a new character and roll a bluff check to tell myself it was going to be better.

Dear diary, today I learned your ether disease can randomly worsen even if you don't have it and there is no etherwind. I randomly started unstablizing space around me when I was walking around Palmia. Good thing I have an amulet that prevents teleportation.

Yeah, even if you're caught in it for like only an hour, you still get it, but much later. Suddenly I grew extra eyes while reading a book.

Handy! You could read faster.

Anyway, this game is weird. I can't put my finger on it, but despite the bulk of it being near-identical fetch quests, the boring combat, the NPCs being bland and faceless, the loss of karma for failing requests and low karma inexplicably making you a criminal, for some reason I'm still finding it addictive.
Very odd. I just want to actually become good at this game for some reason!
All my characters so far have ended up failing once their karma dropped low and they became a criminal. (Seriously, what's up with that?)
It's really hard to keep karma high when you get one point for completing a quest, and lose about ten for failing even the simplest one. ::) My current guy seems to be doing okay, though.

Then don't fail quests. Don't do the hard sounding ones, like Vernis ==> Lumiest, or Anywhere ==> Noyel.
