After hour of struggling to get around controls, I successfully managed to harvest veggies for gold and kill zounds of bloodthirsty animals, yay :P

Elona isn't that bad for a game. ADOM was harder.

Elona is one of the most rediculously unpunishing Roguelikes in existence. You can't even die unless you choose to.

Well you can if you get unlucky with a kobold at the beginning of the game...

If you know the trick, game becomes very easy. Gold is very easy to gain for example. It's still fun anyway.

Do you mean the permadeath? It would ruin the fun in a game like Elona.

I once drank poisons and let my character die out of boredom :D

The only time money is a problem is before getting enough to buy some stuff to trade.

Based on what I know about this game, it's purpose isn't to be challenging, it is to make things that sound wrong out of context.

'tis a game, the aim is to have fun, if savescumming goodnes out of a fountain is fun then it's fine.

Prostution brings a lot of money. I literally prostuted my character all the way up to his castle from like 100k. My character was so sick, I was losing attribute points every hour.

Stealing skill books from shelters is a good way to go too. I managed to steal more than 20 skill books in bad weather. I don't rembember what a skill book sells for but I rembember I made a quite good amount of money.

Ok, so you toss booze at people to make them buy you.

I'll figure out the steal button too!

What do I do about all the infamy i'll accrue though?

You don't have to toss the booze, just give it (shift + G) to the npc. Secret treasure of the wicked makes it so you lose no karma from prostitution or anything that normally lower it by 1 point.

K.

Does that girl drop it, or did she only drop the treasure of the saint?

Oh, forgot about the secret treasure. You have to destroy the Palmia with a nuke (Red Blossom in Palmia quest) for that. It will reduce your karma and you'll have hard time raising it but it pays of well. You will now receive a 25% reduction to all karma penalties

*presses Shift+G*
*presses enter*
*presses Shift+R two times*
*gets 4-8k*
Repeat. This takes like 5 seconds. You can make 40k-80k in less than a minute.

Stealing brings less money but I still land a 20k-30k every heavy rain. But if you want to do it: http://elona.wikia.com/wiki/Pickpocket

So, you pretty much have to get the secret treasure to make money. You may think these ways are better than the escort quests but the platinum coins you get that from that is invaluable.

If you get the Secret Treasure of the Saint you can pay less in tax.  I prefer that one, actually, since I don't have to screw around with -80 karma forever.
