Also, because alternatives are like platinum coins, you never have too much, if you have a ranch you can gather eggs and milk sometimes, both do not rot. You can also drop corpses on the dryrocks in your ranch(es) to turn them into jerky which doesn't rot either. You can of course get an artifact that allows you to eat rotten food and just stockpile whatever wherever. Or you can spend months doing harvesting quests beforehand and eat seeds. A lots of the food sold in Noyel during the festival doesn't rot either, so you could stock up on that. Finally have some high anatomy skill, rods of summon and/or summon spell and summon your own fresh food... food might not agree and kill you however.

While on the topic of food, is there a reliable way to get a barbecue set? I've been looking around in store that sell furniture and can't find any.

Edit: :( I rushed stealth to 30 to get the "Shadow Step" ability. My character is lv9 and just hit stealth lv30 but doesn't have the ability. Found out about the ability on this wiki page. Does anyone know if there are other requirements not mentioned on the page?

You can wish for one I suppose, "barbeq" seems to work.

You can scum furniture shops if you're not willing to wait long enough for shops to reset their inventory.

You just need to lvl up before the ability is gained once you fulfill the requirement.

There's the fridge, but you also have a second food storage device in your house you are forgetting about. Your salary chest. Items in there don't rot, and I'm pretty sure they don't count against item limit in your house. Leave stuff in there, and by the end of a 3-month period, you've got quite the food supply; rivaling the fridge even. Also of note, hunger is not based entirely on time, but by what you're doing. Constantly casting like I often do will go through the whole fridge and all the salary chest food supply if the etherwind runs long. However, one of the skill textbooks will burn through 12 hours with very little food requirement from what I recall. Etherwind also very rarely lasts more than the first week. From the dozen or so I've gone through, only one has managed to last until the 7th; most are done by the 4th or 5th. Between the salary chest, food in your inventory, and the fridge, you rarely even have to bother with things like rations or flour or stacking food in the fridge. Have some on hand in case it does run long, but don't expect to use it more than once every couple years.

For the barbecue, invest in the furniture sellers at The Embassy north of Palmia. Eventually one will show up, though they're somewhat rare. This is also a good way of getting an 'eastern bed' to show up. Those are great because it means you can sleep anywhere and with better quality than all but a couple places in the world. Have a heavy high-quality one at your home, but an eastern bed for on the road, since they weigh a mere 2s. http://elona.wikia.com/wiki/Bed

Api nuts and healthy leaves don't weight much, never rot and can be found everywhere.

I don't think Chestnuts rot either, though they can also be thrown for bleeding damage.

In addition, you could stock up antiseptic and mix it with other foods to make ANYTHING incorruptible-though, with how little I find antiseptic you might want to save it for special occasions.

Quote from: Ze Spy
Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Is there some optimal way to farm pets at the ranch for more/better corpses? I read that the more you brush them the more bonuses the corpse has. Is there a certain number of them i should keep alive or a number of times i should brush them before stabbing them?

Don't forget that your anatomy skill still helps, even if they're on the ranch. In fact, high anatomy can ensure that there are more than one corpse per pet.

Personally, I rub them three or four times *regardless* of whether or not I have a big brush. Be warned, however, that I do it like that to ensure I don't overdo it-which I don't even know if it's POSSIBLE.

A big brush boosts the effect of rubbing, but I don't think it raises or lowers the limit on times you can rub.

1.21 is out!!!

They tweaked the super attack system quite a bit, related changes are:
Only enemies over level 130 will use specials.
Enemies in Lost Irva can use specials at level 50. (Lost Irva is another area accessible after beating S.Tyris).
Enemies in No Future mode have no restrictions. (No future is essentially hard mode and can be chosen when creating a character.)
Specials will no longer charge when friendlies of the same type die.
Charge gain from damage is capped.
Enemies that max out their special charge can't use it after getting killed. (Bugfix)
Specials are significantly nerfed, they rely more on equipment than stats.
Specials now do extra damage to stronger monsters if you have the Courage feat.
Pets set in defense mode can drain enemy charge using their own charge.

Gameplay changes:
Pets will automatically switch to offensive mode when entered in the pet arena.
Pets will use Fishing, Detection, Gardening, Mining, and Gene Engineer to gather items while in dungeons. "i"nteract and talk with them to receive the items.
Thieves now do a guaranteed critical hit when attacking an enemy that hasn't noticed them.
Pets can be transferred to heirs. Requires a relationship of Soulmate or higher.

Other stuff:
More enemies. Some new enemy sprites.
New Instruments.
The number of Little Sisters that you've saved/killed are shown in the journal.
More effects added to the Tamer's Whip.
You can see your pet's special charge using a stethoscope.
You can use a pot of fusion to create supergems by combining ores. Not sure what it's used for.
Ranged pets in the arena will attack even if the enemy is not at optimum range, preventing running in circles endlessly.
A new... "Squeeze" skill that you can use on pets... success depends on relationship and strength...

Supposedly there's a way to pass pets on to heirs.
- You need a relationship of soulmate or higher and the pet will take a big hit to stats/skills.
- Go to the Showroom.
- Bring up the menu and press F8, you do not need an internet connection.
- You'll receive a gene item that you can pass to your heir.
- Bring said gene back to the showroom to get your pet back.

That's what the instructions say but I can't figure it out.
