Does harvesting from Sampling spots give casino chips again?  I never used to be able to find them, but I wasn't playing on plus.
I think casino chips come from "generic" spots: The rune, the camp leftovers, and the Scrap Wood spots.

I don't think they ever come from Pool, Ore, or Vegetation spots. At least from my glances while gathering stuff. I don't exactly examine every single bit I get.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

This seems...oddly amusing. I recall looking at this a few times, but never paying too much attention. Where do you suppose I begin?
Yep, oddly amusing is indeed the correct term.

First, start by getting Elona+. Depending on where you get it, you may want having adblock+ on; others have been reporting some of the download sites having sketchy ads. And by sketchy I mean porn. Version 1.19 is what I'm using; 1.20 is out there, but apparently has all sorts of issues due to some new 'features' like mobs that will insta-gib noobs despite not being supposed to. There's some 1.19 links a few pages back, and probably some 1.20 links too.

Secondly, this guide: http://elona.wikia.com/wiki/Beginner%27s_Guide

Third, use that wiki the guide is on. It's a bit out of date, particularly in regards to E+, but is still probably the single best source to get on-demand info about any given game system.

Has anyone had any luck using the "mist of half" ability? I think it's supposed to decrease enemies' yellow gauge by half, but I'm not sure it's working, might be doing it wrong.

Been playing E+ myself; but they do come from some sort of gather spot; dunno which ones in particular. I typically just spam enter and pay attention to what I got a few days/months/years/never later. Judging by the number of dungeons I've done recently I've been getting around the order of 2-5 per dungeon.

Now to prepare food and spell stocks for my quarterly Etherwind Festival! :D
A full week of Fun festivities including:
  • Overcasting until your eyes bleed and not even Cure of Eris can stop them!
  • Casting powerful AOE spells on your friends until their eyes bleed! (builds character, dontcha know)
  • Beating the crap out of an immortal sandbagged bear, summoned for spell training convenience!
  • Large stores of food to prevent starvation while allowing for a full week of festivities!

I am the real reason everyone hides in shelters during the etherwind.

And with my magic arrow at level 99, it seems this Etherwind Festival will be when it hits 100. Though judging by damage increase with levels, Ice Ball will surpass its damage at a lower level than magic arrow. Huh. Anywho; level 99 magic arrow does 17d55 @ 31 mana cost for those interested. Level 43 Ice Ball does 13d51 @ 41 mana cost in a surround. So yeah.
Holy crap that a lot of dmg I only do 3d14+18 with my <Claymore> have you messed with act 2 and 3 yet then?

Good grief, grinding those spells hard. And I thought I did good to hit high 50's with nerve arrow/nightmare.

Still on Act 1; made it to level 41 in Lesimas, but my companions keep dying because they are all a bunch of wusses. So as a result, I'm refining my spells while looking for some good pets and not-good pets to graft limbs and such from. :P

I'm also in pretty bad need of better equipment all around, for both me and the pets, as well as needing to train some of my utility spells. 17d55 is a nice sum of damage, but when enemies have as much PV and resists as they do? It hardly puts a dent in the strong ones. And I was dumb and didn't keep up my mist of frailty, slow, speed, ect. So I will 1 shot most things with it, up until they get significant defensive bonuses, at which point there's a pretty sharp dropoff. And in many situations, even 1-shotting isn't enough; I really need to get Ice Ball and my other AOE spells up for that. As well as Control Magic, which currently only has about a 50% shot of protecting my companions from it.

ElonaDate 519.12.1 The Etherwind Festival week has begun. The first of this week's activities: The Ice Ball. Be sure to bring a companion!

Does PV have an effect on magic? Huh, I thought it ignored it, though I should have been tipped off by my amazing 6 damage magic darts vs. Zeome.

I'm actually not sure, but something is affecting them, I'm just not quite sure what that is.

Edit:
Aw yeah, new record! -823 MP with an MP bar of 691 and an HP bar of 735, with 31 magic capacity.

Level 100 magic arrow: 32 mana, 97% cast success rate, 17d55 magic damage.

Does anyone else have issues closing the elona chat viewer? For some reason mine just won't close, I have to terminate the process in the task manager.

Testing suggests it does. Casting Ice Ball with a decently equipped little girl, a poorly equipped Silver Eyed Witch, and an unequipped horse shows a dramatic difference in damage dealt. It does a small chunk from the little girl, a larger chunk from the witch, and about half the health of the horse. None had any magic resist, with the highest hp being the horse, at about 400, the lowest being the witch at 330, and the little girl at 360. Very small sample size though, so take advice at your own risk.

Oh, and The Etherwind Festival ended with fireworks. Turns out I should pay more attention when casting the spell directly above Meteor. You know, that one with low spell stocks that I'm spamming? I accidentally my entire house.

I also discovered items seem to be pretty resilient to meteors. Good thing too. That stack of potions to the left? That's 4 blessed potentials and around 30 cure corruptions, along with 2 domination rods.

Dang, you actually casted meteor. You're a mightier soul than I was. Also more willing to grind. :P
e: That reminds me, how are the enemies' hex resistances now? The changelog mentioned lessened resistances to the elements, but nothing about things like slow and element scar.

I experimented a bit with the summon monster spell (thanks to the mage guild delivering lots of specific spellbook i can choose) in Palmia and noticed that the King and Queen, their palace guards and their general are really, but really though guys.

After doing several time a filling of the royal palace main room with strong baddies (my monstter summon spell was increasing in power quickly) and escaping the ensuing hilarity with my trusted teleport spell, at no point the (sometime very strong) monsters have been able to kill any of them.
Only the poor scholar librarian guy got killed (good for my museum he left the figuring/card) after a fire raged through half of Palmia.
Fire that despite burning the royal palace people was still unable to kill any of them and finally ceased after destroying the whole palace but leaving the palace folks surviving.

Are there any ways to reduce the weight of equipment aside from scrolls of flying? I decided to try a fairy thief for laughs.

Won't that wreck its stats though?

Edit: Also, from some testing I've been doing, the ability "Mist of Halve" seems to take roughly half of your yellow gauge and reduces the target's gauge based on how much was taken from you. It has actually saved me a bunch of times since I've started figuring out how it works.
