Nope, normal person. Never threw anything at me, and I lasted a few turns in melee even, before it pasted me. I may have been using one of the debug races though I guess.

Did you anger an adventurer by pickpocketing/killing them? They hold a lifelong grudge against you, and will track you down instantly if they're in the same town as you (somehow they always know where you are. Don't ask.) And yes, they will smash walls like a dungeon boss. The only way to make them stop is to talk to them while under the incognito effect.

Nah, it was one of the generic NPC's in vernis, the big dungeon cleaner pyramid dude. As far as I'm aware I didn't anger him, but I can't say for certain, it was a long time ago.

Hi folks. Just migrated my save to Elona+1.08.

Is there any way to teach my mount-pet Swimming? Does he even get the bonus when it rains? Second, does the new-and-improved Traveling skill work to improve my pet's speed when we travel from town to town?

Edit: Second question, I found a shuriken with Improves Shield skill [###] but when I wield it my PV does not go up at all. Current PV 202, shield skill 60, Opatos at 39 Faith with max favor. So presumably there is some kind of rapidly diminishing return, or the result is not visible.

I'll be checking into these things myself, but it'll be awhile before I am strong enough to go to South Tyris to mess around with anything there.

I don't think any monster has swimming - though bells now start with firearm skill, which means you can teach it to others now - meaning the only way for a pet to get it is via equipment bonus. I don't know whether they benefit from it though.

Traveling doesn't give bonuses to speed, but it *is* based on speed; meaning it (and swimming which is also speed-based) trains speed.

I don't know whether pets benefit from the skill trainings from traveling.

From reading the threads on 4chan, I'm almost positive there's a monster with Swimming... but I don't remember what it was. Sorry. 

As for Travelling, while it doesn't give a speed boost directly, the japanese elona wiki suggested that it gave a seven-league-boots sort of boost to world map traveling speed, even in vanilla. Some bored wizmode testing on my part confirms this is the case, though I only tested the ridiculously-high end.

I know your pain... I learned my lessons long ago in vanilla. If I get an awesome piece of equipment in raw, I will convert before using it.

If it's godly level then I will give up using it until I get a kit... better than eating it.

About Elona+ 1.08:

1. There are lightsabers, a long sword with average random stats and 100% pierce. The material type remains ether after I read a scroll of inferior material. Is there a way to change them, or is this a pet-only weapon? Is it even possible to use for any long term for player characters?

2. There is a ball making recipe in fusion pot, but it is bugged. It said the third component is a book, but instead it only wants my ice box. I backed up and tried it, and created a level 1 ball.

I think lightsabers were in the vanilla game. They were always made out of ether, and stayed that way even with inferior/superior scrolls.

I was in Lumist with my little girl and defender. I read a scroll of return and rested to return home... then a dialog popped up. A wish! I forgot to whip my defender and so he drank from a fountain.

Very excited, I opened the wishing list and checked what I want. Seven league boots, check; dungeon, check; new skill... I got plenty of disguise kits; Potential... I already got 3 in my cozy house. So I decided to get a Happy Bed...

Then the portal opened. Yeah I completely forgot about that.

At least I managed to capture a cub later on... it's super hard to capture things when you hit very hard, even when throwing a shuriken made of meat.

I love them. Their chance for extra ranged attack is awesome. Can't really comment on much else, though.

If you're going to do any non-magic and non-throwing ranged, firearms are the best way to go. Fairy and Yerles seem to be the best fit, though I've never tried a Juere one.
