What is the exact effect of blessing a weapon/armor ?
On the wiki it mention
Quote
Blessed things usually are more powerful or have a higher success rate than normal items.
Without any statistics or formula.

So i scum saved and tried with my weapon and noticed absolutely no difference :

before :

after :

All the stats are the same from what i read, so is there something not listed there that improve with blessing ?

edit : for those interested, i found a nice little sprite replacement that keep the original overall design, but improve their quality a lot :
http://elona.squares.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3723#p25013
(file character.bmp inside the combined20100914.zip downloadable there)

There's another replacement character.bmp , but it changes the design of several sprites
Well, the statistics of the weapon probably won't change, but the formula it uses might.

Blessings increase DV and PV by 2 and 3 each, I think, and adds at least +1 or 2 or so to hit and damage. I don't know, but I remember it says in the help thing ingame (?).

And aliens are

I am aware of what form they take... but from everything I seen from the game they are a natural creature from earth.

I thought blessings either made the item less likely to get cursed when you're hit by cursed whisperings/curse effects, or cancel them out?  Like, if your blessed axe gets cursed, it turns into just a regular axe, as opposed to a cursed axe.

Thank you !
Looks like i'll have to read more of the ingame manual before the wiki then if it has more informations

My party got into a fight in a forest dungeon that featured a "quickling", that is a some very small "thing" that my troops couldn't manage to hit, that moved as fast as those evading bats around us and that was shooting a very lot of arrows each turns, destroying all my minions with incredible ease.

I had to look into the wiki to know what to do to avoid a certain death, and

As the wiki mention, this must be really great as a pet if you can give one of your artifact ranged weapon, half a dozen shots by turns could make a really devastating minion.

Quicklings are devastating. Bells are that, and nigh-unkillable. Get a highly engineered bell.

Don't even bother engineering it. Just give it a bow and watch it murder things. My level 2 Golden Bell is killing level 50 guys with (mostly) ease.

I am aware of what form they take... but from everything I seen from the game they are a natural creature from earth.

They come from the wells, and do not occur naturally.  Considering how wacky wells are, I wouldn't be surprised if they act as interdimentional teleporters, occasionally sucking Aliens into Elona's world.

2 treasure maps, yay~

Found the spots, yay~

Need to press 5 on the numpad to dig on the tile...

Laptop, ergo no numpad: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Short version: please tell me there is a way to dig on the tile you're standing on without a numpad/a way to rebind keys/an alternate key. >.<

Nevermind, I'm being stupid tonight. Spacebar, derp.

Was totally worth it though, sword, staff, ring, amulet, 3 plat, a little more than 10k gold, 3 small medals for the first one. If you want to be cheap, just look at the world map and find the spot shown on the map. All white means it is in the north somewhere.

I found the other one of mine in the far north corner inside of ten seconds. Now all I need to do is manage to get there without running into bandits/by savescumming shamelessly.

Oh, and certainly worth it. The longsword was godly (but had a -3 Healing debuff, and I play a claymore, so yeahno), but more importantly the ring was a might silver aurora ring with a bunch of buffs on it.

And I just found a random plat coin on the ground in the starter town, for no apparent reason. Good luck yay?
