Interesting, but not exactly urgent. And from what I can tell, it's early morning. No star gazing for now!

Continue upwards, sending the scryball ahead, telling it only to return if it detects traps or enemies.

Have the Scryball perform reconnaissance.

You're as far up as you can go,  short of climbing out a window and getting on top of the tower. Which would be a terrible idea.

Oh top of the tower then.

Start investigating the star watching stuff for clues. Maybe Bonfo left something for us to find?

You briefly consider going outside and scaling the outside of the tower, but quickly decide against it. You send the scryball instead, and order it to come back in half an hour. Meanwhile, you search the astronomy tower for clues as to Bonfo's whereabouts. A quick search turns up something interesting: half a ham sandwich. Bonofo is still here! But where?

Look through the telescope and see what Bonofo was looking at last.

You look through the telescope. There's a giant eyeball!

...wait, no, that's just the scryball you summoned. After telling it to get out of the way, you see that the telescope was pointed at some stars in the southern sky. You're not sure which, but you think you can make out a duck if you squint a bit.

Dead end! Start heading down to the bottom of the spiral stairs. Order the Scryball to accompany us.

Downstairs you find an entrance hall with four identical doors on each of the four identical walls. Identical sconces shed light from the four corners of this room, making it bright enough to easily see by within the chamber. A crate full of what appears to be jars of newt eyes rests on the floor, and one of the doors is ajar. What now?

Ponder why a door would be a jar. and then put newts eyes in it :P

Yes I am aware that 'ajar' means slightly open. But I couldn't resist.

Check inside the open room.

From beyond the horrible abyss of exam week, the thread arises from the dead!

Within the room is an expansive kitchen, with a roasting chicken on spits that turn themselves, pots of water boiling, pans of sauce simmering, and knives floating to and fro chopping up vegetables. From time to time, a plate will float over from a cabinet in the center of the room and leave, ladden with food, up the stairs. Doors are set in each of the four walls, just as with the room you just came from. The food smells delicious. What do you do now?

Take the North Door, assuming we just didn't come from that.

Don't touch the magic knives, boiling water and simmering sauce. It will kill us.
