why isn't Mayday for 31.25 out yet?

i love the mayday tile set but i have been stuck on .21 coz it's just not updating! is there something im missing or did mike just not notice we are at a stable release (well stable ish) and new updates arnt weekly for a short while?

I follow Toady's posts to find out when he updates the FotF thread, and so I happen to have noticed that Mayday was banned for assing about in the Various Nonsense section.  Or whatever that creepy emo section of the board is called now.  Probably shouldn't expect updates too soon.

From what I understand, there's Captain Mayday, and Mayday Green / Mike Mayday.
Captain Mayday is the one that was banned.
Mayday Green (Mike Mayday) is the tileset artist.

The thing about "Permabans" on every forum I've been on before is that if you email the guy running the forum about it, tell them you won't do it again... and then don't do it again... you can usually get them to lift the ban.

Actually that goes for more than just forums.  I've been banned from libraries and written the management before, and gotten the suspension lifted.  So unless this isn't the first time he's done something like this, or Cap'n Mayday is just too proud to say he won't do it again to Toady, he's probably going to be back.

Might be a month tho.

Either way this is so completely off topic and I appologize, we should all be ashamed of ourselves for derailing a thread that was basically an "RTFForum" moment, anyways.

oops.  sorry i brought it up. 

anyway, the major tilesets usually float to the surface of the mod forums after each major update.  what are they now, Iron Hand, Phobeus, and Mayday?  Any others?  I really just use them for their creature sets, as none of them maintain ascii tiles anymore.  I tend to run Herbdog/Guybrush, and whatever 16x16 creature tiles look most complete.  I'd be happy to use Iron Hand's creatures, but I cant find a good 18x18 ascii tile set.  oh well.

Seems like the tilesets uploaded to the wiki havent been updated since the last version.  Plenty of good stuff if you click on the old version links, but not much is updated to the latest.

Phoebus is about to put out a spiffy new version... very awesome looking, and comes with no less than 14 options for your basic tiles.

With, and now also WITHOUT iconic hints on the stones.

i actually would rather iron hand's tile set but the plant life is neon green...

Get Phoebus's new set when it comes out and use the Grimdark/Meld/Not-Embossed one.

The only stone with icons would be gems (which look like gems).

Have you checked out the walls he's making in the newest thread? Wow.  And the new rough hewn stuff is looking just as good as Ironhand's ever did.
