Decorated barrels
« on: December 22, 2006, 08:18:00 pm »

In the most recent version ive found that barrels my foolish craftsdwarfs decorated with bone or shell arent being used for food and booze storage. Despite having a furniture stockpile chock-a-block with ornate barrels, any brewery tasks are immediately canceled due to an apprent barrel shortage. <sigh> I guess I'll just have to sell them to some gullible human merchant.

I saw a post about ornate bags of sand not being used for glass creation.  Probably related.

Containers which are decorated consider the decorations to be a stored item, and thus the barrel can't be used.

Point is: Dont decorate ANY container, until this bug is fixed.

Which really means don't decorate any furniture then?  I don't think containers are selectable for decorating by themselves, are they?

I've noticed that decorated bags can have sand in them, I don't know which came first though, the sand or the decoration.  I do know that the while they'll end up on my sandbag only furniture piles, the glass furnace doesn't recognize them as sand bearing items.  Although if you designate those bags for the trade depot, the dwarves will dump the sand out on the ground.

I wish that sand bags *said* that they were sand bags like plump helmet spawn bags and the like do, but they don't.
