Cause a nuclear fallout panic by somehow blowing something up. Turns out, nothing remotely dangerous was caused, released, or revealed by the relatively minor explosion, but the public nonetheless becomes even MORE terrified of the word "nuclear" and anything associated with it.

Go in to a martial trance. Obviously these are not dwarves, and he is a dedicated miner, so these must be underground creatures attacking him!
