WWUD if she was faced with the options a) channel out a tile from the tile adjacent to it or b) channel out the tile while standing on it, and plumbet 27 stories to her death?

Nothing, she's unable to reach the site. The next dwarf to get there and mine, let's call him Cog, would choose option a, because that's how dwarf AI works.

What would Cog do when he saw Urist trapped in a pit?
