NOOOOO! The baby was murdered?

Yup.

I may have to quit this world I'm using and do a complete reinstall. Every baby after the 2nd generation is being born male.

A necessary loss. Our norns must be without mercy to survive the grendel menace.

Violence is pretty much the norm now. If a norn wants to mate, they beat the shit out of their partner. Hell, they beat the shit out of random things for no reason and love doing it.

Edit: had to wipe everything. I'm reinstalling now. Something was very wrong. NO new norns were being born and EVERY SINGLE 3rd generation norn was born male. This is not supposed to happen.

Well, we intended on destroying the ecosystem but I didn't know it would be so FAST.

Well, norns were killing grendels and eachother left and right. Starvation was rampant. Almost everyone was at least moderately injured. Entire metarooms were stripped clean of food. And disease was rampant.

I think that counts as destroyed.

Id honestly suggest getting Gaia but apperantly you cannot get a functional version anymore. (Gaia prevents your animals from depopulating)

I'll see what I can do. Hopefully I will have everything ready for tommorow.

It really is a bad oversight of the game that you even need it.

Some animals can become extinct in just a few hours of playing without you doing a thing.

So... I'm not sure how much effort this entails, but would it be possible to get pictures? I kind of just like seeing them to know what you're talking about and if the different norns look different they would be even more helpful/awesome. On a related note, if two different breeds mate do the offspring just look like one or the other? And do all members of the same breed look the same or are there variations on the skins?

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

The sprites stay the same, but it's usually a mix of the two parents, and I think there can be color variations.

Aw hell yeah. My magma norn went berserk and beat a grendel to death.  :D

I'm going to preemptively say stick another magma norn in the next batch.
