Violence fought with violence solves nothing.
Violence fought with complete and utter annihilation of the enemy is the key solution.
You know, information IS the key to victory. Let's break the ice with my tale.
You see, bullies have a sort of "strategy" in picking a prey.
They search the one which are most likely not to fight back, or that, in their eyes, are the most "uncool".
(like if that meant anything. It's like an elf way of view, and since we are all dwarfs, it's that way of looking)
They then test the victims resilience. And once it's done, they begin. They move in a group who has formed during years of kindergarden, of pre school, of middle school, or of sports team maybe. The point is, a bully is never alone. A Lone bully is a Dead bully. He has no fighting spirit at all, he has nobody to impress, no gang of friends to help him, so, he has nothing. Key point is complete annihilation, keep that in mind as we proceed.
Highschool "gang" of my school were five persons, the classic boss who has to repeat a year for the second time and four lackeys who needed somebody with more than one neuron to make them happy. I'm plumb, not as plumb as i dwarf i admit but still a little bit. Point is, i tollerated having my book papercutted into shreds, i understood their desires to be looked at like gods from their friends, and then i smashed them to the ground with information terrorism.
One at the time, a lie at the time. "Hey, you know what XXX said yesterday?" or buying them off "ohhh you need to copy some english homework, right?" or even better, "you do understand that right now i will punch you to kill you, and not just to send you to the hospital, right? i hope you clearly understand this simple way of thinking, because when you'll hit me hard enough to send me unconscious, you'll be going in prison, but i will kill you if you insist. I'll gouge your eyes and make you eat them, i'll kick your balls off and let you see how painful it is." just psychology. i never actually had to kick anyone in the balls (well, just once, but i was 13, and he practically deserved castration. story for another time maybe) bully act because bully don't think about those tiny things called Consequences. They are untouchable, in their eyes, they are the bosses. Sadly when they end up in court with fingers pointed against them, they no longer feel happy. I bought off/made distant/removed, all the gang from the bully in question. Then i proceeded to annihilate him through the teachers, of whom i had an inside link all alone. "He copied using XXX. You should find evidence on the site..." How sorry it was when he was left alone, in class, looking at the blackboard. He just stopped coming to school. Pity.
Point to be said is: bully are not invincible, they are, indeed, quite weak. You just need to set your sights on their weaknesses, and exploit them.
Oh, and if they wait you by the road, start screaming. Don't even let them speak. You just must start screaming. Even if they point you pointy things on the back, just scream their names, like "XXX WANTS TO STAB ME!" in the worst case scenario, your death WILL be avenged. otherwise they'll run. Oh, and if they try and stop you from screaming, bite them. Hard. Did you know that teeths can chop off fingers with the right strength? Just well...there are thousands of way, point is, you need the strength to take them, or else advice remains useless.

And then it just became enjoyable. Ruining pathetical and clearly inferior people's lifes. My information network is smoothly able to tell me anything, since half of my hometown knows me, and the other half knows my grandmothers shop. And i have keen ears. And easily pass in the background. (Heck i could be the invisible men sometime).
i'll stress it just one last time: Information is key to victory. And victory must be complete. No survivors.
