Town first, then once we have more resources we shall storm the fortress and make it our base of operations

You walk up to the town gates and pound loudly. Some guy with a script comes out a side door near the gate and walks up to you. "Welcome to Algera, Mr.-OWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOOWOWOWOWOWOWOW! What the hell was that for, you arse?!" The apparent greeter says as you knee him in the groin.
"Can you not tell I am The Antagonist?" You say.
"The what?" He says.
"The Antagonist." You repeat, annoyed.
"Listen you, either speak clearly or prepare for an asskicking. Most decent people don't try to cripple the messenger!"
"I'm an Evil Overlord, what do you want, a hug?" You say, annoyed to have to say such a generic title.
"Ah...No. We don't need one of you crazies. Go screw a sheep or do some other act as crazy as you types are, and your tiny army isn't that impressive either." The greeter says, obviously recovered enough to insult you more.

[Taricus]

Pick greeter up, throw him into town leader. Slaughter the town guard afterwards.

[Furtuka]

Pull a Darth Vader Esque But Without The Force One Armed Lift Into The Air Choke and toss him to the minions. He will have a special treatment set aside for him.

[Dr. D]

Say that you are the antagonists of all the other evil overlords. Say he must have misunderstood you, you said you were the weevil overlord. Ask if his village has a weevil infestation.

[Aklyon]

You grab him by one hand and fling him somewhat awkwardly (he is lighter than you thought) into the minions, who tackle him. While several of the minions hold him, the armored division follows you into the guardhouses, cleaning out anyone you leave behind. These idiots will learn the real meaning of the word 'rumor' very quickly, or be almost-killed doing so, because as much as it would be nice to just wipe out the place entierly, your advisors are advisors for a reason, and they advise against complete obliteration.

Take over town hall and the seediest parts of the town first

Conquer the town!

We pretty much have already, the guard is dead and the mayor-in-disguise is still cringing while being held by our minions.

Start ordering the peasants around.

[Furtuka]

Build secret bases underneath the bars, gambling establishments, and general stores. And have the mayor/messenger tortured and brainwashed

Nah better to learn the stuff yourself so in case the wizard over throws you.
Enlist to a magical school and learn the way of magic under the alias of Anna Tag Honest or Ann T. for short.
If that to much of a hassle then pick up a magic for dummies and move up to MagiC++.
