Personally, I'm disappointed at the lack of lashing tentacles or stabby tusks or horns, since those are far more deadly than punches or kicks. If you really want to make something damn near unkillable, make a [BODYSIZE:500] creature made of tusks and tentacles with boiling or magma blood and attacks like these:

Finish it off by making it like fighting, quick to enrage like a honey badger, give it a clustersize of 40 to 100 and a total population of a couple thousand. There, non-humanoid, completely different to any other threat you see in the game and lots and lots of Fun.
Adamantine, now with tentacles!

It probably plays genesis too.

What I'm trying to make here isn't another megabeast to attack an 80-strong fortress. But it isn't finished yet, and in my initial test (250 years of history, large world) about 3 were spawned, one of them racking up a killcount of 1043. So far, they're basically just a slightly smaller bronze colossus, but made of adamantine. Adamantine may be light, not the best bludgeoning weapons, but the creatures are still deadly because of their size, and no other creature in the game is capable of killing them. Ergo, they win every fight.

My original intention was:
-Giant adamantine warriors
-With adamantine facial hair
-That each wield a 2h sword (but in one hand) for slashing and hewing
-And appear occasionally in benign areas, at the lowest cavern layer (possibly magma sea)
-Won't try to path into your fort and slaughter
-But may get pissed if you start expanding too much down there (cause they don't want you breaching HFS)
-If you're lucky (?) enough to find one, you could use it to defend or even offend against HFS

I'm just dismayed that in my first attempt I got, instead, The Age of Myth (1-27), Followed by Age of Three Powers (27-80) and then Age of Gered Lawbutcher the Slimes of Purchase (forever)

I put them in mountain biome for now because either Megabeasts with [BIOME:SUBTERANEAN_CHASM] aren't spawned or just get omitted from Legends because they're underground. I can't tell which because it's ludicrously difficult to search the underground for them.

If you just wanna plop them in your game, believe me, they're deadly enough. But seeing some demand here, I thought I should post another creature I made. Not tested yet, though, so I really wasn't concerned about it and didn't post earlier.

Any ideas on how to make Guardians more like what they're supposed to be?
Beards aren't "made" out of anything, so you'd have to just say it's blue.

You could say there's only one per area, and it's ubiquitous so it is there to guard against every dwarf.

I'd get it, but I don't want web shooting dwarves and stuff. It'd ruin the experience and my !!Science!! experiments  :(

There are no web shooters and fire shooters. The dwarves are pretty much as vanilla, just with tweaks to skill rates and some of them heal a bit faster or are immune to diseases.

If you mean the first picture, I drew it a year ago and didn't bother to replace it. The real castes are in the manual.

P.S. Of course adamantine with tentacles makes more sense.

The wiki has most of the stuff updated, but the manual which comes with the mod is always up-to-date.

The [demon] tag appears to be useless for modded creatures. You can give something underground_depth:5:5 and biome:subterranean_chasm/biome:subterranean_lava. The clowns you make this way won't come out of the circus the way they do when you first visit in vanilla, but they will hang out down there and cause trouble. A good strategy is to give them buildingdestroyer:2 and the ability to fly.
