Do traps require a trigger?

Refer to title for question. By trigger I mean a lever or a pressure plate.

Odd how many questions are appearing in the discussion forum.

To answer your question, ShoesandHats, upright weapon traps need a trigger if you want them to pop up and down. Weapon, cage, and stone-fall traps are automatic; as soon as a hostile creature steps on it it activates, no need for a manual trigger.

Upright spikes are built in the upright position, meaning that if something falls on it, it'll get impaled. Strictly speaking, you don't need a trigger system to drop something onto it, just stupid dodge move.
