I have a dwarf who was assigned to mining, who I found walking back and forth at a pick. She would walk to the pick, show a cyan ?, walk a couple spaces away, show a red ?, walk back to the pick, ad infinitum.

She created the artifact while possessed, and it is an iron mace, and she is carrying it in her left hand.

She does not show any cancellation messages or anything like that while doing this.

(Removing mining from her labor list does make her stop dancing)

Probably Bug 157.  They don't prioritize the jobs properly when an artifact is involved.
