falling on other creatures mitigates damage, so just keep your roost or pen there.

also, i've never seen a bridgeapult move something directionally.  when things are "flingafied" they tend to move a couple squares in a random directoin, and fall straight back down.  I tried it with bridges of various sizes a few versions ago, but they may have been changed since then.  dont make the plans too big until you find out how it works.

you could do the same thing with stairs and a drop-chute though, even if the bridgeapult did not work.
