Reporting bugs by Wiki?
« on: October 31, 2007, 12:48:00 pm »

We have a wiki page for reported bugs: it may make things easy for Toady if we can update this page with new bugs, to keep them all in the same place. Here is the page: Bug Reports This will also help prevent redundant posts. Do you think this can work?

I think what we may need is a bug reporting system.  There are several you can download for free.  We could have categories and Toady could even indicate if they are true bugs, fixed, in progress etc.

Here's a real basic one, but could probably make things a little easier for everyone:

Click on the demo link to view a sample of what it looks like.

If someone were to set something like this up for Toady that would really help I think.

I've used mantis in the past for large scale projects (mostly first person shooters) and I find that it works very well and has many features that would be useful for DF (such as being able to assign catagories and mark whether repros have been found).  Of course Toady would have to balance the ammount of time it would take to set this up with the ammount of time it would save him.
