Coins and magma go together. Can't like one without the other.

I'll tell you who wanted TWO friggin coins, Vladimir.

SUMMER CONTINUED
Malachite 15
We've solved the mystery of the mysterious magma. The mysterious magma, which mystified me, was mysteriously in the middle of the mysterious unseen. The miners, curious to solve the mystery of the mysterious magma, dug their way over to the mysterious magma, only to find it to be a no-longer mysterious magma pit. This pit led to another mysterious pit, which is obviously not as mysterious, being that the last mystery is no longer a mystery.
Also, we've completely hollowed out what I believe to be the last safe portion of the sacred vein, leading to the mysterious

A water buffalo starved today. This, because the previous overseer saw it adequate to stuff all the animals into one, cavern floored room. I'm quickly moving them down to the caverns, before any more livestock perish.

Galena 21
Vladimir is going to get on the case of anybody who trades away nickel silver products. WATCHOUT! It's defenitely not like we only have one bar of nickel, and no nickel silver. PHT! In the name of Armok, who's beard came up with such a fib?

Galena 26
Dear Armok, what the bloody HFS is this?
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Incase you were unable to tell, or you've no words to describe it, much like me at first sight, it is a single (not so bloody) room filled with upright training spears. WHY? Why must previous overseers torment me with the lack of an entrance, a mayor without as little as a bedroom, dying animals, a blood filled cavern, and no hospital? And did I mention the lack of bedrooms? To make matters worse, the only plants being planted were plump helmets. That meant only wine for all of us. I never want to smell that stuff again IN MY LIFE! In addition to the lack of variety in food and drink, there was a lack of variety in the clothes... they were all x(clothes)x. I'm done ranting now. I'm going to go sleep in my NEW bedroom.

Status of the fortress, mid-year.

The wealth has almost doubled so far, and Memorial is almost complete. Autumn is going to be a great season for the Metropolis of Paddlemet. I'm also going to point out that we have three useless bowyers (including one legendary) and six almost usless woodcutters.

Sincerely,
Edosurist, Overseer of the Metropolis of Paddlemet

The only way to stop it was for somebody to go up there and cap it from the source. After many tries, Melkor finally laid down the floor, and paid the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of our wealth. In doing so, he became a novice swimmer. Heh... next time, learn to swim faster. On the brighter side, at least that's one less mouth to feed and shelter.

Limestone 25
VLADIMIR! What'd you eat? Something's stinking up your whole room. The better question is... what DIDN't you eat? I had to go in and investigate myself, and I discovered some rotten yak cheese sitting on the floor. Filthy noble...

If you have to appoint a captain of the guard, make sure he is a) weak, b) has no military experience whatsoever, and c) does not enjoy violence.

Or alternatively, do the opposite and watch your FPS soar as your population crashes.

Sigun Kolikud gave birth to a boy whom she named Iden Avuzali, who was inconveniantly killed by Edzul, the most famous dorf in Paddlemet during my year, who was the captain of the guard.

Moonstone 17
Speaking of the Guard, I might as well start jails with the extra beds. It'll be the best jails in the world. It's not their fault they're in jail, it's the mayor's fault. They can live in luxury.

more to be told when I get to more Paddlemet (should be tomorrow) LONG LIVE THE METROPOLIS OF PADDLEMET!

Why does blood even affect frame rate its not pathing and clothes dont make a major difference to freamreate so people covered in blood really shouldnt make a difference.

There's literally a *lake* of it down in the caverns... but still, you're right, it shouldn't have a noticeable affect on framerate.

trust me. it's a huge lake of blood. if blood was ranked out of 7 like water or magma, it'd be 7/7  :P
and no, it's not my laptop that's the problem, it's actaully my slow desktop computer, which McAfee likes to check every week (but it seems like each time I'm on it) UGH! And the reason why it causes so much lag is much like pump stacks (though apparently, a better one's been devised). Even though the blood is already on the tile, the game has to calculate it each time it would usually calculate what's on a tile doing what. When you add up all the blood plus moving magma and water on this map, as well as dorfs climbing over other dorfs, it begins to add up.

Is Vladimir really that fat? Guess he ate away his sorrows when Svyatoslav died.
wadaya mean?

WINTER CONTINUED
Moonstone (continued)
Moonstone 23
PHEW! That was close. Some miner accidentally collapsed a cieling somewhere on the hillside, where the merchants so happened to be leaving through. YIKES! The merchants and their yaks were BLOWN down the hillside (2 z-levels) and landed luckly only stunned. That could've been seriously bad for our reputation. Then again, wouldn't we get everything dropped for free?

Actaully, they managed to come across the herd of zombie camels that were waiting on the hillside. As the axedorf escort himself later told me "Aye! I took one big hack atats head. I swear, I heard teh skull crack, and I saw the brains oozing out, yet it still came after us! Now where's my cheeze I ordered a yer ago?"

Moonstone 25
The traders finally leave while Ingish starts work on his artifact. He used a total of 119 bones (119 from Gilafi and 6 from a pig), two zircon gems, two gold bars, and an olivine rock block. It better be worth it.

Moonstone 26
I was wrong when I said the traders left. A few of them left through the caverns, and are following the long staircase down. Seriously? You must be really stupid, or there's an unknown tunnel down there. THIS IS DELAYING OUR MEETING WITH THE LIAISON! HURRY UP! WTF... you're heading around the mysterious magma pool!

Opal
Opal 2
Ingish's craft turned out to be a pig bone bucker. Unbelievable. It's a whoping 131,280☼! The Speechless Spine was only 112,080☼ in comparison!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

More in the world of art, there is an engraving the the Epic Duel of Centuries, starring the ant woman worker, striking a menacing pose while the forgotten beast is making a plaintive gesture! The stoopid part about it is that it's in Vladimir's second bedroom.

Opal 4
The trapper Minkot Oddommamot and the manager Karakzon Zulsurudim have married, and will forego any formal celebrations.

Opal 7
Shem Ashmonsazir has given birth to the boy Kadol Dolushiteb.

Great. Vladimir's been interrupting the meeting by storing his random stuff, and now that he's finally back in the office, he's throwing a tantrum!!!

Opal 11
The clerk has given birth to a girl. Now, a brewer and farmer have married.

The liaison tells us that he'll make sure to raise us to a county. YIPEE!

Opal 24
Reg Vucarudesh has grown to be a child.

OH! You, Vladimir and your cheese. You keep on leaving it to rot in the middle of your room. Be smart, don't let it stink up the fortress...

Opal 26
Vladimir's first mandate as a count, and guess what! It's 3 crystal glass items, which is currently bugged, because rock crystal is currently unfunctional!!! woot! not to mention we don't have any...

Opal 27
I lied yesterday. We actually conveniantely have 3 raw crystal glass sitting in the corner. (i never make glass items, so I have no idea how to do it. the wiki says to make it at a glass furnace, but when i select crystal glass _____, it tells me I have no pearlash.

Obsidian
Obsidian 11
A girl has been born today.

Obsidian 23
another girl

Obsidian 24
OK, Vladimir's really got a thing for crystal glass. now he's banning its exportation.

Here's the status at the end of the year.
