Seriously, are there no secret rooms in the first few levels at all? I've played them with NOCLIP after I've "won" them, and there was nothing hidden.

Hm? I found a room with singing sentries. Another one with a radio playing a cool song. And a few other ones here and there with graffiti and other cryptic stuff.

It's soon after you get the 'Tater Tot', although I assume that's what your friend told you. You'll pass by a small hallway above and to your left as you're approaching an Emancipation Grid. If you examine this hallway from the right angle, there's a portal-susceptible chunk of wall.

At least, I think that's right. Just keep an eye out for portal-vulnerable walls whenever you're approaching an Emancipation Grid from the outside. You'll end up in a small office with the portrait - once you get inside, you can't miss it.

Woah, I just started over after playing through the game once, for the fun of it, and the pre-recorded voice in one of the first ruined test chambers gives a really subtle piece of foreshadowing. Something along the lines of "Don't worry, all Aperture Science robotic personnel [or something to that effect] can remain operative under as low as 1.1 volts"

1.1 V is exactly how much GlaDOS's potato puts out when she's trapped in it. At least until you stab her with the portal gun, since that added 0.5 V for some reason.

Oddly enough I once made an analysis of the plot in Portal 1 using all the dialog in the game.

I came up with a theory that the computer does indeed have a personality and its attraction to the main character comes from her loner status which the computer also feels is its own trait. It is also why the computer is willing to clone the main character so much.

Of course people just shot it down...

So really... I am done analysing Portal story.

Actually, I have a few grips with some blatant graphical errors that I cannot believe they didn't see. There's this one part where turrets are deposited through tubes and the tubes, which are at head height incidentally, are not physical objects and can be clipped through. The others that I noticed happened during spoiler scenes so I'll spoiler them as such.

This is the worst one. When you're getting pulled onto the moon, the game makes it blatently obvious that your arms are actually disembodied, and it does it more than once. It's a cutscene, how could they not get that right?
The second problem is that when you encounter P-Body and Atlas at the very end, you look at their legs and pan up to their bodies and whilst you're looking at their legs they're pretty obviously standing on thin air.

These are just the few I notice, and they were really, really sloppy ones that could be easily spotted, not what you'd expect from Valve at all. My gripes with Valve games have all been skybox related (Ravenholm, I'm looking at you), this was just lazy. Valve don't do lazy.

When it comes to games, I'm usually the grumpy old guy that whines about things(Valid points of criticism, though it might just be a opinion in some cases)
But these 'complaints' is just plain moronic. The DLC is in addition, not ripped out content like EA does.

I love you guys for using spoiler tags, seeing as I only just entered chapter 7.  Managed to find a sequence break at the end of 6 though, even if it has no real effect at all.

So for some reason I never noticed the jump that gets you over to PotatOS.  So I spent like half an hour getting frustrated at the jump that didn't work.  I eventually got it, right above the gated door, and onto the roof of the elevator.  Hop down, go in, enter the next chapter, and WHY IS THERE A POTATO ON MY GUN WHERE DID THAT COME FROM.
