.25, Dwarves dropping weapons in Fortress mode

Anyone else having trouble with your dwarves dropping w/e is in there hands...IE swordsman dropping his sword when he actually goes into combat and then gets owned? This is happening to a friend of mine since .25 and we can't see to get it resolved T_T

Ive actually been griping alot about this. They will drop their weapons, which will then be forbidden for some reason, and won't pick them back up. I'm not sure why, and I can't find an answer, so I've resigned myself to just occasionally going through my fortress and unforbidding any dropped weapons.

It's been observed that weapons get forbidden if they ever get stuck in their opponent.

Is that with the "Forbid used ammunition" and/or "Forbid other death items" settings, or don't those matter?

I believe its the "Forbid Death Items from Enemy" one - or something along those lines.
However, even with all Forbid orders on allow, I've still noticed items being forbid OCCASIONALLY.

Try setting the squad to not carry food or water.  I tried it and they seem to drop items slightly less often. This method was not proven by !!SCIENCE!!
