Brother problems
« on: April 18, 2011, 12:58:30 pm »

Ok, to start off my faternal twin brother has moved in to my father's house and brought all his stuff. Normally that wouldnt be a problem, if his things were safe and he didnt have a phycotic episode every time someone looked sideways at him for too long. The truth is however that hes fucked in a bad way and hes only here because his crazy junk burned down a shed, that and we've all disowned our mother's stupid self. Now there is four people and a baby residing at a two bedroom home and my brother desides hes going to claim the second bed and hiss and growl at anyone who says otherwise, not to mention that his junk makes it difficult to get the closet of my clothes in the morning when I have to go to work a job which I dislike and dread going to every day, with a dumb cunt of a boss. Things arnt going well.

I probably dont need advice, I just want to vent a little.

That's right, let it all out.

What "dangerous" stuff does your brother have anyways?

Sad thread has been in the shitter recently, but that's kinda why it's there. If we can't give advice at least there is a place to openly vent. Dunno what advice I can give with such little information, which works for you. I can't tell you to just man up(Aha) and chew him out on his crap because if not done correctly it'll just dig him deeper into his rut. Can't go coasting like this either when dealing with irresponsibility.

I suppose a general piece of not wanted advice is invite him on some group activity to try and get him interested in outside stuff. He'll hate it, but usually things work out alright so long as he keeps occupied.

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

Old tvs, damaged electronics, broken lamps, broken dishes, malfuntional fans, clocks that are never right, and lots of random other crap that dont work or is just parts of who knows what... half of which catch fire every so often.

We've tried dealing with his junk, he just yells and goes off and finds it and more, and he spends outside time rummaging through peoples trash...

Physical violence. It worked for mine.

They stay deranged, but at least they're more complacent.

My brother is somewhere around 100 pounds and a foot bigger then me, punches me hard when hes not angry, and can lift me with one arm...thats not going to work, at all.

Mine was heavier and stronger than me, too, but that doesn't mean he can fight.  :D

Unless you can't fight either, in which case it might be suicidal, depending on his illness. Zombiemeds are keeping mine in check now. Drools a lot more but hardly ever physically attacks people anymore. Pro-tip: move out, let your parent(s) deal with it, and get your own life early on. I know I don't know your situation, I'm just sharing what worked for me with a mentally ill agressive brother.

Unforunetly mine can fight, very well, better then anyone else I know but hes not agressive, hes just over possesive of junk. Hes been on meds before but hes not really any different on them.

I am moving out with my sister when we got enough saved to afford an apartment.

Sounds like he has issues with hoarding. Also, how about living in the basement/couch or something?

He use to live in my mom's basement, my dad doesnt have a basement, he took the bedroom and I have to sleep on the couch.

He doesnt exactly hoard he throws lots of stuff away after he breaks it. He has like twenty of those old school tvs with the glass screens (that all turn on but dont show anything), like fourty or fifty lamps with no bulbs or any intention of putting bulbs in them (he normally ends up breaking them up and keeping the parts), a big box of computer harddrives 15x 4 or 5 deep (he takes them apart for the parts as well), lots of copper wire (lots and lots in all kinds of thinkness and length), four fans that turn on and off randomly, like 20 wall clocks that are not set right and dont run at the same speed, a box of broken scraps of metal (chains rings earrings and pieces of who knows), a big cluster of magnets and random metal things, broken game systems and computers and other electronic trash, and locked containers of mystery.

How old are you? I'd suggest moving out as soon as financially feasible.

[stuff] and locked containers of mystery.
All that sounds like something from the twilight zone. Are you sure he's your brother? ;)

20? You should've moved out years ago. Youngsters these days...

The economy is shit, and I got a car and insurance I have to pay for.

As for him being my brother...dopplegangers or aliens would replace him why?
