Go to the inn. Accept tutorial quest. Also, buy a bandana. Nah, that's silly.

[5] You go to the inn and talk to an old man in the corner. He begins telling you things you already know like 'Move the d-pad to move!' and 'Press A to perform actions!'. He does mention something about a 'Limit' meter. Hrmm...(Obtained Limit Meter, Obtained Limit Break: ? ? ?)

To fight goblins! Go go go!

And before I go killing goblins, I'll buy 2 potions and leather shoes and gloves (50 gil left)

Verily, you buy two potions and get some shoes and gloves for your bare skin. You were beginning to think you were a Hobbit.

[4] You walk outside of the Noobton town gates, and are greeted by a zoomed-out overhead view of yourself. You walk around when suddenly your vision blurs and turns to black, and you're suddenly zoomed in again. A catchy song is playing from apparently nowhere. You find two Pathetic Goblin Soldier's. Score!

I buy Badly Crafted Chainmail and 4x Potion with my 100 GP, then go with Ochi so he has backup against the goblins.

Running quickly, you buy a set of chainmail and throw it on top of you, then grab a stack of potions and shove them into a convenient backpack.

[5] You rush to enter the battle to aid Ochi, however due to the fact you're a thief, you actually manage to avoid notice as you sneak up behind them. In a blue box above your head, white letters spell out 'SNEAK ATTACK!' (+5 damage to your next attack!)

I shall purchase the best helmet and gauntlets this town has to offer, as well as a packet of phoenix down. I must then perform my duty and protect Ochi.

Equipping your newfound helmet and gauntlets, you head over to the general store and ask for a Phoenix Down. You receive a bright red feather which you store for later.

[2] You run over to the town gates as quickly as possible, but can't seem to locate your teammates. Perhaps it was a bad idea for you all to split up so early...

Hmm. I'll buy a phoenix down and two ethers, then follow Ochi. I'm not missing out on a chance for some XP.

You also stop by the stores, stuffing two Ethers and a Phoenix Down inside your robe for later.

[4] You catch up with your party members engaging the two weak Goblins. Talk about easy EXP...

They can't have gone far. I shall wander around until either I locate them, or some variety of monster happens upon me.

I mug Pathetic Goblin Soldier 1. Stay in the front row once they're aware of my presence, but try and keep them in a pincer attack at the same time.

Stay in the back row, and get ready to throw out a cure when my teammates get themselves hurt.

Welp, since you guys already take care of the gobbos...

Check available quests.

[1] You begin asking around the inn for quests. One person wants you kill a dragon, the other wants you to deliver a parcel to a town on the other side of the world...In 3 days. Somehow you don't think you'll find a decent beginner's quest.

They can't have gone far. I shall wander around until either I locate them, or some variety of monster happens upon me.

[4] You spot your teammates standing near some Goblins. Knowing you're in a Final Fantasy game, this obviously means they are in the middle of a heated battle. You rush over to them and enter the front row.

Back to the battle!

I mug Pathetic Goblin Soldier 1. Stay in the front row once they're aware of my presence, but try and keep them in a pincer attack at the same time.

[Accuracy = ∞ Hit!] [Damage - 8 + 5 = 13!] It doesn't seem these goblins have any evasive abilities to speak of. Coming up behind the first Pathetic Goblin Soldier, you stab him in the back for 13 damage and steal [6] 20 Gil. Jackpot! You move to the front row, ready to prevent escapes.

Front row! Cast matra magic on goblin A.

BWAHHAHAHAHAHAH
I AM OVERPOWERED ALREADY

[Autofail] You raise your hands and chant some words. A glowing prison consisting of spinning triangles envelops Soldier A, and then shatters. A flash of light temporarily lights up the area and blinds you! Nothing happens! I guess it doesn't work on people without MP.

Stay in the back row, and get ready to throw out a cure when my teammates get themselves hurt.

You let your 'Time' bar stay at the maximum, biding your time until an ally gets hurt so you can immediately cast Cure.

Pathetic Goblin Soldier A attacks Ochi! [Accuracy = 85% Hit!] [Damage - 2!] Goblin A strikes the Blue Mage in the chest with a club! It only deals glancing damage. You were hoping he would use Goblin Punch.

Pathetic Goblin Soldier B attacks Ochi again! [Accuracy=85% Hit!] [Damage - 2!] Goblin B attacks Ochita as well, dealing no more damage than Goblin A. These are the saddest starting enemies ever. Except for Slimes. Nobody dies to a Slime.

A white light temporarily shines around our lovable Blue Mage, as Dia casts her held Cure spell on him, healing him of 4 damage.

Does it make sense? From a very weird point of view.

Is it awesome? YOU BET YOUR ASS.

Do all classes keep abilities learned from old classes, or is that restricted to certain classes (White Mage > White Wizard, for instance)?
