Original sin is a typical idea in many religions. When Adam ate the apple in the Garden Of Eve, he created original sin. This gave him free will but gave the ability to sin.

Death is when the body wears down and finally stops. This happens to basically everything at some point. Death cannot be stopped, captured or incapacitated. It's not evil nor good. It's death. When you die, you get to join god in a mighty kegger while fighting according to norse mythology. Let's go with the norse idea of heaven.

Create a race of Dyansauri Raptor-men, give them standard (Human) intelligence, have them believe you to be their only god, tell them to create a grand civilization that will take over the forest planet, and tell them that if they succeed, you might let them travel the stars, looking around for things to make them more powerful. Ah, and populate your universe with stars, planets, black holes, and gigantic planets, one near the forest planet, that are places of magic, where elementals of that planet live peacefully.
