Alright, I've managed to get a sort-of settlement set up on my planet, with just one problem; creatures that can one hit kill me at my spawn. Is there anything that can be done about this, other than log out and wait?

Umm... Well since my hitpoints max out at just over 30, probably around 35ish. I haven't got the most HP, cuz I chose to be able to fly.

In that case, you should try getting some metal body armour (the unpowered kind) when you can get online without being spawn camped. I got some, and it gave me roughly 40 units of kinetic defense (which made me virtually invulnerable to the attacks of the local wildlife)

EDIT: Holy mother of god. Just got eaten by 3 peacocks the size of an apartment building while trying to figure out how to produce body armour for myself and not the city. It's going well.

You have to produce armor for the city and then buy it.

Note, you could produce it by hand if you're carrying the required materials by selecting the craft tab while standing on the armorer.

Unless they removed that since I played.
