Have they fixed the horrible lag problems? Or at least improved things a little?

If the pirates have gotten more manageable, I might be convinced to rejoin.  I really liked this game before the evil pirate onslaught (5 pirate driven ships in system for every fleet warship D: )

How far along are you? Spaceflight-capable yet or still getting things put together?

That'd be cool.

Tempted to start this up again. Maybe I'll give a dwarf race another try.

Bah. My first race on SoH relied on pure dwarven ingenuity and tenacity. No flying, no jumping, no special powers.

I have no idea how you'd simulate a martial trance in SoH :P

And wouldn't forming a federation require relative proximity? It'd be hard to meet for trade or conferences if we're a few thousand parsecs away from each other.

Spinning around and stabbing everything around you to death. It helps (or helped) to have armor.

We have a problem.
Voting isn't working and requesting a position shows Empire feedback of it working, but does nothing.
Some of us are thinking of forming a new empire with a different political system.

We could all join one empire, grab materials for a colony, and then leave the empire.

Question is, would people be able to make their own empires after leaving an existing one?

Probably the easiest solution would be to build an empire to the point that one could make a massive, long-range colony vessel (at least TL2, possibly higher) and travel directly to a pre-determined sector to found a new capital world.

If possible I think a massive ship carrying everyone around trading between various empires would be amazing. We'd need a some level of tech to get a reasonable number of berths, but once we got that, I think it would be a welcome change from the usual gameplay.

Hmm, I'm interested in this. I keep playing it for a month or two, then drifting away as my friend's interests (or patience) wan. I'll get it downloaded again.

I'm interested, just started installing it myself. I hear the lag is terrible though.

Also, the lack of a 64bit windows installer saddens me greatly. I have more than three rams.

There's this 4gig-patch I heard about... Can't remember much about it. 'cept it's for random games.

Edit: Have you guys tried to build a government building?

You mean like a capitol building or something?
