Any news on the recent separation of the Tresnoth Republic from the Toucan Empire?  It was initially staged to look hostile, but seems to have been for the lulz (typical Toucans...).  However, Tresnoth still hasn't rejoined Toucan, and I have it on good authority that Mostres wasn't happy there.  Seems odd.

According to posts made in the forums, it was an excuse to mop the floor with the Klingon Empire, which is run by a first-class jerk. Not sure if that's the whole story, but that's the last I've heard.

Tresnoth/Toucan split was purely a joke. They originally had a huge elaborate write up but it was lost due to accidents, so they just said 'fuck it, go with whatever'. Taking out Klingon was planned prior to that, they just decided to hit them right then since Klingon decided to take up arms with the 'rebelious' Tresnoth. They were only a short time from attacking anyways.

I've seen no indication in IRC that Mostres has any real issues with Toucan or Torikhil.

Yet the empire standings show Tresnoth as separate for at least a week now...odd.

Also, when did all the big guys open up immigration?  Tymas and Tresnoth are both showing "Open", which was one of the big no-nos of the HazCom treaty they were fussing about a few months ago.  I'm confused. :o

Is this a good thing? I hear that the pirates are bad stuff and that the entire game went to hell because of it. Or was there a recent change that made this obsolete (I can't find anything saying they removed pirates or nerfed them so you don't have to be sooo active)

Is anybody still playing this? Haxus is still updating very frequently, think I might like to get back in.

I don't really mind about the pirates or anything; the reason I stopped playing completely was because it was literally impossible to play for the lag. Has that been improved at all?

I loved the innovative concept of this game, but honestly that lag was unbearable.
