Start new empire, get eaten by flying animals, remember why I quit last time.

I bet most of us would love to be in an alliance. Plus, I don't think they're going to go out their way to kill a player who just started.

Once you've made a capitol, you're already visible on the Galaxy Finder, so your location is no longer hidden.  Posting here is a little easier if someone wanted to find you, but it's not revealing any secrets.

I started a new empire, i just hope that the game is a bit more playable than last time i tried. Although it was more the maintenance aspect that drove me off. And also the fact that the game is begging for a free camera top down view to manage things, but for some reason you have to control a character, which tends to make planetary exploration/construction and going to your other planets/systems very tiresome.

My Empire "Gruss" has reached basic space age! It has basic starships with wormhole capabilities. If anyone wants to join, the empire will provide you with ships and the Prefect title to start your own city and 20k starting money.

I'm not really sure how government works but I need citizens to figure it out.

Once you've made your first city, long before you declare your capital, your solar system has a name on nav consoles and fly directly to system orders for anyone in the same or adjacent sectors. So not making a capital is no protection either. Nor is the fact that your city won't actually show up on sensors or the like before you declare or build an airport - it can still be located and captured.

If someone wants to take out newbies spawning near them before they can reach space, there's nothing stopping them from doing it (unless they're insufficiently attentive).

The Entirely True Chronicles of Viscount Kreejn, first viscount of the Kobold Duchy

Volume 1: Revolution

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I think confiscating wealth affects more than just the planet you're on. Remember not to over-confiscate, or you'll end up writing bad kobold fanfic told mostly through dialog about while waiting for the workers to finish their jobs.

"Absurd demands"?  I was trying to reconquer the capitol single-handedly.   I'm only a little insane, really.   XD   Sorry about the sudden drop, though, sister showed up in town.

On another tack, I was thinking about starting back up with an empire concept that I've tried once before: The New Order of the Hammer, the spacebound arm of the Hammerite Order of the Thief universe.  For those of you not familiar with Thief, the Hammerites are a group of zealots in service of the Great Builder, dedicated to machinery, opposed to nature, and hating heretics above all else.  The New Order of the Hammer would likely involve lots of building (naturally), cities all over magma planets (forges!), lots of "thees" and "thous", protecting of newbie empires (whose constructions are pleasing to the Builder), and quite possibly smacking of heretics (who threaten said pleasing buildings).

Would anyone else be interested in signing on as a space Hammerite?

Uh oh. Was this the revolt you put down while I was trying to join, or do we need a new planet?

Kobold Duchy currently has a moonbase, and a small city on an outer planet; the capitol is hostile and has 3 TL32 laser bases.  I'm wishing I hadn't brought that much tech in...

Sounds like a good way for you to get familiar with how war - done well - actually works in Hazeron. You already learned that ships vs laser bases = dead ships. :P
