How convenient of you to leave for one of our enemies while not mentioning it, and thus having your account left open in our forums. This has been rectified now.

The game has no rules on names, and I won't tell someone what name to use or not use, so long as he doesn't go any further (and I've made sure that he doesn't). Also, he's nowhere near to being in charge. antofdeath is a superb ship designer. Yes, he's also a troll. He's generally ignorable though.

So, I'm having an ethical issue in this game.  I'm currently fairly isolated; way far out from the main galactic hub.  I like the isolation; means I don't have to worry about my empire suddenly disappearing overnight, and can take a very slow developmental pace.

The problem is that a few new empires popped up recently in my sectors.  I could easily send in my TL 15 ships and probably take them out, but that just feels wrong to beat up on a newbie.  At the same time, I like my space.  What's a well-meaning isolationist to do?

Offer to guide them if they become your vassals?
If they refuse you can kill em or more benignly give them a shitty wormhole capable ship and tell em to get out of dodge.

I offer troublesome new empires near me a choice to take a WH capable colonizer and a decent tech boost and find a new area. Friendlies and neutrals I don't bother, aside from requesting a non-open policy.

I'd send them with a ship off to somewhere else, or you could just destroy them. I see why you have an ethical problem, but remember they may cause problems to you later if they are left alone.

It honestly feels like a lot of their problems came from the fact that their entire team was composed of cats, and the people who were supposed to be herding them were also cats.

I was a member of Tymas for a while, but I got really sick of the slimy cast of characters that seems to run it. Some guy who seems to think that naming himself "Adolph Hitler" is the pinnacle of wit, and then there's Ant of Death, who's the most annoying little troll...

That said, PTMC is mainly controlled by #0, who named himself after his IQ score.

The Duchery of Helvetica has been kind enough to adopt me, though I've been away from the game for a few days now. I really need to get an officer...

The problem is that now every single habitable system anywhere nearby have been claimed, and in order to get somewhere empty, you have to fly around for hours and hours, and to do that, you really need an officer...

Man you made me laugh!  :D

It's more likely than you think.

So, PTMC have crashed and burned?

E: Wow, just read through the diplomacy forums. It's amazing how arrogant the PTMC is even when they've received such a spanking.

Well, balls. Thor is back, and as RAEG-y as ever. At the very least, he's sworn off combat (though somehow I kinda doubt this).

Still no sign of Zero.

As far as I can tell from the last page or so, PTMC is still making the game non-fun?
