Randomly ended up at a bar where a Swedish speedrock band was performing live, Scumbag Millionaire.
It was surprisingly good, and the band was a friendly bunch. Drank beers with the drummer until 4am, had a genuinely good time. And a hangover next day  :D

Ooh, these guys sound pretty good! Cheers for the recommendation.
That sounds like a helluva time, they seem like they'd be great fun live!

Edit: might as well throw up a few things I've been listening to recently. I was very stoked to discover Joshua Hedley, as well as Whitey Morgan and a few others!
Joshua Hedley - I Never (Shed a Tear
Ernest Tubb - Saturday Satan, Sunday Saint
Infamovs - Dawn of the Black Dance
Malum - Perdition

Sia - Cheap Thrills (ft. Sean Paul)
The lyrics have so much to read into, the music video adds even more.  For the over-imaginative, I guess.

Glad to see this thread back.

Aw, hell yeah! Ghoul is great! I love Ghoul! ...Who doesn't?
I should really transfer my Ghoul patch from my old vest to the new.

Probably my favourite track of theirs. Definitely my favourite album of theirs.
Man, I wish Ghoul could be bothered conquering Australia. I've tried to convince them the locals are tasty, but not being a cannibal myself I'm not sure I was overly convincing.

Friday-Weekend radio here is so good.  For the NPR shows, but also for a whole lot of bluegrass.  With the same host, since...  Since 1979, hah.  No wonder I'm nostalgia-ing so hard.

This isn't as good as what actually played, but still (heh): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rL4J-XIAKvw

And he looked right through me,
with somniferous almond eyes
don't even know what that means...
Must remember to write it down.

There are definitely parts of that song that I'm not a fan of, but the lyrics are fucking amazing. And as with most Tool songs, the drums are just magical... And the bass. And the guitar. Fuck it, these guys know their instruments.

There's also Drawing Flies, which is another song I quite like the lyrics of (Hey! What' you yellin'? About conditions, permission, mirrored self-affliction?), but where the melody is somewhat, well, abrasive (as is the case for a lot of the tracks on Badmotorfinger).

I tend to put a lot of value on songs with complex and creative lyrics, which is a shame because I'm absolutely dreadful at actually hearing what's being sung... I'm one of those people who can't hear a damn thing if there's background noise cutting in.

EDIT: And of course, Badmotorfinger also has Outshined on it, with its hilarious/incredible "I'm looking California / And feeling Minnesota" line.
