I'm trying to work out where Gloryhammer fit in on my cheesy metal scale. They don't seem much further gone than Alestorm so far (it's a side project of one of their members), which puts them fairly low. We definitely aren't rising to Rhapsody, Dream Evil or (god forbid) Manowar levels.

Note that much of my scale also forms the track lists I've used to DJ from. Nothing like keeping the floor full by chaining the Ripper into Barlow.

He's rather biased against both Dundee and Fife, although to be fair I also suggested that both this album and the movie Braveheart constituted everything anyone needed to know about Scotland's history =D


Continuing the cheesy silly metal theme, Nekrogoblikon is worth a listen. They have a song about bears! It is terrifying. Also In the Hall of the Goblin King is good, and there's always the two-part Goblin Christmas Armageddon.

I figured out why Gloryhammer is awesome. They're basically the medieval version of Alestorm (heck, they were founded by one of the Alestorm folks)

Also Epic Rage of Furious Thunder is the best title ever.
