I need to get more 90's songs... In the mean time, enjoy some early 2000's.
Simple Plan - Crazy

Edit: Better idea, great indie music!
The Postal Service - The district sleeps alone tonight
HelloGoodbye - When We First Met
Explosions in the sky - First breath after coma

Guys, I just found THE music, everybody has heard it at one point in their life if they've seen a single documentary (even more likely if it's a BBC one).

Perpetuum Mobile.

Stumbled across some newer music from a band I was obsessed with a few years back and I think it's time for a second round of obsession.

I Like Trains - Mnemosyne

And one of the older tracks; The Beeching Report

That guy is awesome, yeah. He has an official youtube channel, I believe, with more videos of his.

I'd recommend layering that video over itself, it makes for an interesting sound if you time it right. Open the video in multiple tabs and start one after the other at a certain point in the video to sync it up.

In the same vein of guitar trance, have an entire Buckethead album, the Colma one.

So my friend made a pretty good song, suprised even me how much I liked it.

He's doing half the vocals and the guitar parts, the song is also 2 minutes long, the extra lenght seems to be a placeholder for more, so if you get annoyed by the beat feel free to shut it off X)

So, uh.

I started listening to that stuff Vorthon posted.

Then I talked to Aklyon about Space Station 13.

Then we decided that some of those songs were appropriate, but he pointed out that singing does not work well in MIDI.

Which somehow led to the topic of sci-fi Vocaloid songs. Even though I sort of semi-doubt that those would work in MIDI either at the moment.

Ah, well. Shame I can't find any in the first place. :V
