Juice Leskinen is one of my favorite songwriters because of his funny and thought-provoking lyrics. He wrote very good English translations for a few of his songs... enjoy.

Singing is nasal and flat. The music is... well... not my taste. Or just bad, you pick.

Sing along time! Electric light orchestra - Mr Blue Sky! Such a fun song, just what I needed to hear. Even includes a guitar solo to sing along to.

The staccato rythm is annoying. But then, halfway the song, it gets somewhere. A robot, then a choir, then a nice outro. Redeeming but overall still too boring.

Braveheart meets Mozarts Requiem, except there's no climax, and the whole song is lacking any ups or downs. Plain and boring, just an orchestra+choir does not make something automatically "epic".

If you mean technical-because-technical, then yes. Is it good? Yes. Pretty, or listenable? No.

Yeah, I know Juice's voice isn't perfect. He drunk quite a lot, and that's probably one of the main reasons. Still, I like his voice - maybe it fits the Finnish lyrics better, or then it's just acquired taste. Juice never focused on music, because he considered himself to be a poet more than a musician, even saying something along the lines of "complex tunes would only disturb the words". His lyrics are considered to be among the best of Finnish music. I can't evaluate the quality of English lyrics as well, though, apart from the fact that they convey the stuff in Finnish text fairly well.

And now, back towards the mainstream, in terms of language as well.
