What headphones are you using?
When in doubt, check Head Fi before you buy.

Also, the pillows.

I had some Apple crap earbuds that come with an iPod. I broke one the speakers on that pair and bought some... I don't remember but I think it was a good brand. Anyway, I broke the plug on those. So I chopped both in half and soldered the speakers on the new headphones to the plug of the apple headphones. Then I wrapped the remaining exposed wire in yellow electrical tape.

Sound quality is just ok.

Holy shit, this is like Tool for metalheads. 0_o Intense. Be warned: Heavy.

 Found it through a review.

Apparently the French can be metalheads too.

Also, this thread needs more activity.

I would of said they sound more like Mnemic than Tool, for instance:

Mnemic is groove AFAIK. And I'm referring to the time sequences and rhytms.

*Shrugs*

I'm just getting a more Mnemic feel when I listen to them, but I see where you're coming from.

That's probably because of the vocals. From memory anyway.

Gonna quote this because the pillows are great.
Man, I don't know what happened between Living Field and Please Mr Lostman, but whatever it was, it turned the pillows from another good but forgettable band into fuckawesome I love these guys so much.
Though, it was a two year gap, but man, it's like a whole 'nother style. :b
Early stuff was kinda jazzy and pretty clean, then it's just like fuck it, distort the guitars.
Compare the first song on Living Field and the first song on the previous album with the first song on Please Mr Lostman, Little Busters, and Carnival.
And Sawao Yamanaka is just plain awesome.
I love that guy.
And for anime people, yeah, Sawako Yamanaka was named after him.

The Pillows?  I seem to recall a song in there that Hoshi no Samidare has a reference too.  Biscuit Hammer!

That song by Hacride sounded a bit like Meshuggah I think! Which is a good thing. :D
More french metal.
Gojira - From the Sky

And DJ Okawari. He's so good!

I was walking home to this album today, actually.
