Right? I love it when voices blend and harmonize like that, and when people make the most of it.

So, yeah... They really don't do covers of Waylon Jennings. Huh.
Dang, that's a shame. What I'm hearing so far sounds alright nonetheless, though.
Reminds me of 'I'll Fly Away' - actually I think I just heard "fly away" in the lyrics a moment ago, haha. Incidentally, I thought the recording of I'll Fly Away that I'm most familiar with was a lot older than it apparently actually is. Huh.

My contribution, I've probably posted songs by him before but oh well:
John Moreland - You Don't Care For Me Enough To Cry. Devastating feels as always.
A live video with seemingly hardly a dry eye in the house.

Oh, and some new discoveries from last night's Youtube trawl:
Nick Dittmeier and the Sawdusters - Rhythm of the Train. Damn, this is a fun listen. Rollicking country.
JD McPherson - Crying's Just a Thing You Do. Pretty close to peak rock and roll right here, could maybe use some more piano and syncopation but it's pretty damn groovy in any case! Just try to listen to this without at least bopping a little.
Bendigo Fletcher - Chocolate Garden. Oh wow, yeah, this is good. I feel like it really captures the feeling of classic folk. I don't know, it's a pretty special song. Plenty of those vocal harmonies y'all like, too.

Darling, I'm dazzled

Just felt some nostalgia for the, uh, people the Orz don't want to talk about.

Edit:  My dad used to play so many good bands like this, on his "hi-fi" or whatever setup, back in the 90's.  I don't know audio hardware, but he does, and while I usually miss the point of the little adjustments he made...  The end result was always noticeably better than just wearing headphones.

I'm still more than happy with headphones, but I will admit that his setups are still objectively better.

Edit2:  Pros of visiting dad:  Getting to hear my favorite songs in glorious properly-echoing surround sound gauged properly for me the listener.
Also, showing him something like this gem and learning that it's from this.

As Halo 1's Sergeant Johnson admonished:  This old music is our history, kids.
Edit3: Downsides of visiting dad:  Rambling concerts which act like Grateful Dead or Phish but... don't click for me like those do.  Becomes awkward.

So, if you can look past the unnecessarily Hindi-form title font, the slightly odd band name and the "this is my first time with Photoshop" album cover, Ring around the Moon is, I think, a very haunting and interesting track from Elephant Revival.

I would curse "They imitated Warhammer and will forever be held to it.  And for a while be more relevant.  Then..."

Anyway... "Beware, beware, the daughter of the seas.  Beware..."
