I really like it, thanks!

My mother would play a lot of this... IDK, celtic folklore?  Songs about Avalon, movies about Merlin and Arthur.  Stuff either outright mentioning the Old Ways, like this, or just hinting at it.

That and dark walks through the woods are probably why I go on about fairies and rain-gods so much, heh.  But understanding that doesn't change how it feels, and it feels creepy but exciting.  It's nice to feel like greater things are out there, in the gaps, even if they don't actually affect reality in noticeable ways.

I don't listen to this sort of thing as much anymore, besides some occasional Enya.  But I do really like the style, I'm checking out his other work.  Also, apparently it's the Solstice today!  Wooo :D

Here's something related but metal instead, by Miracle of Sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ai0ufYO0uXI
Edit: And here's the Bard's Song by Von Canto again.  I've shared both of these before, but this one has cute cat in a pretty, creepy forest with twilight approaching!

Edit2:  Okay that second song you edited in... wow, I'm really sold now.

Composer of the OSTs for Deadbolt and Risk of Rain, both games by Hopoo Studios. His music, well... it's very atmospheric and does a good job of setting a tone or mood.

In other news, Chris recently announced "Deadbolt, Cross-Section". Apparently, he's split up his tracks into each of their components - "stems" as they're called. I can only assume this lets people create their own songs by mixing pieces of these stems together.

Didn't know the guy worked on Deadbolt.  I loved his work on Risk of Rain.

Recently been poking different avenues of Spotify recommendations, and got properly introduced to The Wailin' Jennys.

Note: No idea what the sound quality is like on that link, as this computer doesn't have audio. Still.

Band and song title are correct, at least...

Sadly, I don't think so... They just do covers of other, lesser-known artists such as Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen. Missed opportunity, really.

Ok so I bought some albums on bandcamp. Bandcamp automatically gives me the files with the physical album, but the albums also came with download codes. So I basically have several free albums.

These, specifically
https://igorrr.bandcamp.com/album/savage-sinusoid
https://burningallwitches.bandcamp.com/album/silhouette
https://blanckmass.bandcamp.com/album/dumb-flesh
https://burningallwitches.bandcamp.com/album/brass-hearse
https://bonobomusic.bandcamp.com/album/black-sands

If anybody wants them, PM me and I'll give them to the first person who asks.

After a bit more poking, it appears that they legitimately haven't done any covers of their namesake. According to the band's webpage, they were "hastily named" by a promoter (the three primary members all had solo careers and none really expected the experimental collaboration to last more than a couple gigs), and shortly after identifying themselves as the Wailin' Jennys, Waylon Jennings died. They actually ended up getting some flak from people who thought that they were mocking him and his passing.

So, yeah... They really don't do covers of Waylon Jennings. Huh.
