No, I did not know that, but man that makes it so much more awesome some how. It really shouldn't, I know, but it just does.

My favorite band is metallica, they're just so...awesome.
One of my favorite songs by them is "Hero of the Day" from their album Load.

But yeah, I know I respect him a lot more after reading all of that.

Soo much respect for him already. The only way I can focus long enough to do any work ever is with tea and grindcore. Without both essential elements, I fall into a lazy quivering mass.

Just as planned...
I unheard it through listening to Surfin' Bird.

Yeah, listening to Surfin' Bird wasn't worth it.

Meanwhile, as much as I love this song, it will never take over the original because it's missing the best part.

Meanwhile, more Roughsketch, but I noticed that this upload is almost as popular in Russia as it is in Japan.

I recently rediscovered Gåte, which seems like it should be up the alley of some people here based on the contents of this thread. Some young norwegian folk musicians joined up with some rock/metal-inclined musicians and decided to experiment a little (..with music, although the guitarist might have experimented with other things also). Unfortunately the experiment ended some years ago, but the few albums they produced are great.

This playlist is representative.

Hadn't heard this one before today, might be my favourite now:

Just lurked my way through the thread and figured I'd contribute a bit.

Indie, in the modern definition of the term

The video is a little distracting awesome.
I have no comment to place here.
A very cute song, I think they're under-appreciated.
Upbeat happy song.
You're staring at the sun, you're standing in the sea, your body's over me.

And now for something heavier! Mostly post/math rock.

At least it's heavy for about thirty seconds.
Does anyone happen to know where the voice sample is from?
Sadako's Fury was the one I was looking for, couldn't find a good link.

Really liked Gåte and Goreshit mentioned earlier, anything you would suggest from that?

also I wish I spoke Icelandic. Because both the language and this band are awesome.
