A most shocking matter has come to my attention.
(apparently I forgot to get a screenshot, sorry)
It seems the royal cartographer has begun an affair with my servingdwarf. This seems strange and unnatural to me, that one of his station should pursue one so lowly, but I suppose we are freed of so many of the strictures of tradition out here. It gives me hope, in a way, hope that we may yet succeed in building a new society, a new world, in this waste.
2nd Felsite
Despite my best efforts to contain the encroaching horde, they have raided our liquor supplies, and drained them ALL. We had a year's worth of liquor a month ago. This thirst is unnatural. I have redoubled my efforts to contain them, and I will see to excising the corruption from their ranks personally soon. In other news, we have nearly completed Project: Plug it Up.
11th Felsite
I fear our doom is sealed. We have lost so many, in so short a span.
Dear Adil was the first to go. A minor accident at the first stage of the Project. Luckily I have identified an uncorrupted miner among the immigrants - the project will continue.
But it did not end there. The final struggle was a brutal one, and many good dwarves lost their lives containing the threat that was upon us.
It all began when one of their number suddenly started acting strangely. All at once the immigrants wanted to be allowed out of his presence as he began acting more and more strangely. Dear Zasit took it upon himself to have words with them, to try to persuade them to be calm, even as I sawed away the last beams supporting the roof... Bembul will not be happy.
But those were not the only casualties. Several more dear to us were lost to the ravages of thirst
First ArKFallen, now Haika and Adath. Oh cruelest of fates! Bereft of booze! I had not until now fathomed the true depths of evil within these fiends.
I have ordered dwarves to the stills immediately, but it may be too late. Perhaps... perhaps I can complete the plug, and we may at least die surrounded by good stone.
That's going to smell pretty bad in the morning....

Wow.... sorry guys. That immigrant wave hit me like a wrecking ball. I had been hedging my bets with a huge stockpile of booze since the beginning, because I knew thirst could become a big problem FAST, but I did not realize how QUICKLY a surge in population would deplete our stores.
There's still hope if we can get the stills churning like crazy and a caravan arrives fairly soon. If a tantrum spiral doesn't get us first.
Sorry about your dwarves - but there's plenty of stock for re-dwarfing, as you saw above. Those 6 are still all unnamed, as are Bembul, Kadol, Sakzul (the axedwarf) and a few others.
