Dwarves forbidding their own weapons?
« on: April 13, 2011, 10:45:18 pm »

Does anyone have any idea why weapons that have been in use for a little while become forbidden?

My theory is that it happens when a weapon gets stuck in an enemy and pulled out. Anyways, its annoying, and I'd like to stop it somehow if that's possible.

Try setting forbid orders through the orders menu 'o', then forbid 'f'. It may have the side effect of sock retrieval

I'm pretty sure that's fixed in the latest version if you don't have it.

That's not a theory. It's been proven and is a known bug.

Yeah, until they have to drop them for some reason.

They will forbid their own weapons when they become attached to them, since this keeps them from trying to upgrade when something newer comes along. Are you sure that's not what you're seeing?
