That 90% of these tactics involve shooting people in the back, spawnkilling and never seeing a teammate or the intel all round suggests some design flaws.

I generally hollow out mountain areas and stand well back from my "windows". This way I can quickly move out of an unexpected enemy's field of view. Generally, I have two or three of these positions well separated from each other but covering mostly the same areas. This way I can quickly change firing positions once I've been spotted. I like to leave just a single block high gap open on the floorlevel for firing, but sometimes it's not possible because I'm level with(or below) the approach area. My technique still needs a little work.

The only bad part is it takes a fair amount of time to prepair and without a few other near by positions to keep the enemy on their toes, it'll get wrecked in short order. Everyone hates well hidden bunkers.

Considering that 90% of those tactics involve you killing the enemy before they get to your intel, I don't

I suppose a player who just spawned and is taking his first steps in a brave new world probably was walking towards your intel in some shape or form, but it would be much more effective to let him cross the map before shooting him, thus wasting more of his time. Defense should begin in the midfield and get serious within gunshot of the intel. Activities in the enemy spawn areas might disrupt them, but from a game design standpoint shouldn't be the predominant form of combat.

Being able to hold your foes in a predictable position certainly keeps them from going after your intel. Other than the jolt of panic caused when spawning camping does feel broken from a gameplay point of view.

Just played a map that was a maze. Never saw an enemy for 30 min. It was kinda creepy to hear fire coming from my side and see nothing but another wall.....

My favorite tactic is to build a network of caves in the mountains overlooking the green base, with 5 or 6 holes, then plug them up with green blocks.  I'll pick one, open it, and start headshotting.  If someone looks in my direction I'll plug the hole up and find a different one.  I can get 20 or 30 kills on a good day doing this.

Eh, I just like to get on top of one of the mountains in the middle and shoot anyone who comes into view. King of the hill, with guns.

I'm wondering how this works... Think the green detracts attention from existing holes like some sort of camouflage?

Grass green, same color as the other blocks, I assume.

The griefers your dealing with are low non hazardous mostly the team mate that thinks buildings your making being random art is pointless in a battle field.
Now you didn't get hit with the I'm building a straight path to the other side of our base to their base and so that I can place a large foot hold there.
The I'm going to frame someone for low non hazard griefing so the green team can sneak in and grab the intel and break their stuff.
Now those people can mess up a game if said people care enough about the intel or the objectives to this game.
That and AoS builders are the most fragile emotional players I ever seen playing this game next to the AoS shooter who thinks they can go MLG on this game.
