There is no end. Sever crashes and server resets are the only end.

Info is for points (I do not do this, and wish there was a way to separate kill points from info points. I can respect 150 kills. Most of the time if you have 15 info caps, I am unsure if you are good at this game, or boring enough to cap the info the safe and easy way. Cause, so long as you do not mind spending like 15 to 30 min digging, it is almost impossible to really defend the info.) and to locate guys on the other team, which I will do if I am having issues finding them, and will gleefully hunt them down if some one else on my team caps the info.
It's actually quite easy to defend the intel, but it takes some long preparations.

Been wondering this myself.

Well, I haven't actually played this game, just been lurking about keeping an eye on it's development, but I imagine a spiderfort would be a fort which is largely composed of a spider-web like maze of tunnels, with dead ends and multiple paths everywhere. Usually what the term refers to at least.

Spiderfort:  usual way to defend intel is build a tower, 4 squares at the base, cant be tunneled up, but you can knock it down by digging out the 4 squares at the base.   Solution:  Build piles of support 'arms' off the tower so it cant be knocked down easily/quickly. 
  Other stuff ive seen that makes the intel almost uncappable:  in the middle of a huge flat island just above water level (cant dig under) right in the middle of the green spawn.   Blues never managed to make the distance before getting blown away.  As either team building a pile of fake intels then just digging your intel down a square or 2 and building a bunker wall on top of it (nobody ever digs down on the wall, inside/outside maybe, but its a hassle to dig in the walls)

Don't forget to build those fake intel over your regular intel. They'll head to it's position on the map, realize that it's a 'fake' intel, and head off. Of course, eventually they'll realize that the intel must be underneath one of the fake ones, and they'll start to dig. Hopefully, your team would be big/good enough to prevent or delay the discovery of your intel.

Another idea would be to simply pave the your entire side of the map in green/blue, but that takes tons of time to do. The payoff might be worth it though.

The blue team made one of those a while back (the last time I played, over a week ago). I was green, and was able to tunnel under it and shoot out the supports, causing the whole thing to collapse into the hole. I then ran off with the intel, sealing the tunnel behind me at turns to prevent all the defenders from following me. I heard digging behind me, but they never caught up :)

I had to shoot 3 blues and grenade 2 more to get away with it though, and my first attempt failed after shooting off some of the supports and being swarmed by 5 or so blues who jumped down after me. I came back and finished it off on my second try though.

shoot out the supports

You could have mined directly underneath the supports, so that they were touching the ground at only at a diagonal, which would trick the blues into thinking that it was still secure. Then you do the same to the final support, and down it falls.
