Just played for a little bit for my first time. It was intense. I was deep in the blue territory, using their own tunnel systems against them. Racked up a nice kill count before accidentally hitting Escape when trying to exit out of the map (which I had done successfully before). Damn it, being so used to roguelikes and minecraft.

aside from running across the view of a bunker.

And since that is basically what we are talking about the enemy having to do to get you?

The biggest issue I've found is that your teamates tend to mark the entrances to tunnels with bright colours which makes them very easy to find and counter

Eh, when I am doing a tunnel attack I honestly dig about 1.3 tunnels for every blue I kill. I don’t really care if they find my tunnels.

If you are using fortifications you are not moving around aside from ducking.
You should have enough space to maneuver side to side too as stationary target dies.

I mark tunnels with a single off-color dot, then tell in team chat which dot it is.  It's too small and subtle for anyone not actively looking for it to spot when viewing the map, but it's still clear if you know what you're trying to find.  I also semi-regularly block off tunnels as I pass through them, especially if I'm going into a fork.  People rarely check to see if there's more behind a dead end, and they almost never think to dig into the sides and see if there are branching passages.

Also, try to build any fortifications that're obvious (pillboxes etc, not sniper dens which should be the same colour as the surrounding terrain) in the same colour as your team. It'll usually put off the other team's shot at least once in awhile. I usually make the base of it grey or the base colour and the top as the same colour as my character's head as it usually results in them misfiring and hitting the block instead of me.

Unless they are on the far edge of the mist, and then you only see movement anyway, I have never mistaken a player for a block or the reverse.

Just practiced guerilla warfare by digging into blue's territory and popping out of holes and headshotting blue scum, then shouting GUERILLA!

This is an awesome thing to do.  I like to find a spot where the enemy passes a lot, dig a little bit out of a hill, and shoot them as they come up.  If they catch on, I'll plug up the hole retreat down the tunnel, and either wait for them to lose interest or pop out of a different hole.

Yeah. I do that pretty much all the time. I think me record is 14 kills using that strategy before they got me.

We built a series of fake bunkers and dummys inside of them, it confused the greens and then we all snuck around the other side of the map and demolished their entire fort.

Oh and did anyone else notice that outside of the play zone the map is still rendered and able to be destroyed, that uses a considerable amount of resources that could be used for other purposes.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.  The obvious solution is to chain the baby up at the entrance as a kobold detector.

It actually loops, you just can't move to it.

Loops? As in from one side to another? That is not true.
