I like co-ordinating the lesser privates into helping me build useful fortifications and other buildings. This recent match I grabbed two recruits and made them help me build a bridge from our command post over a river near our intel, providing a faster way of getting blocks to reinforce it.

I've found that if you just start building something useful, other fortifications tend to grow out of it.  Sometimes even in the same architectural style. Last game I popped down a pillbox in front of the enemy mountain then ventured into enemy territory (to remove the mountain, of course), and came back to a heavily fortified defensive line.

The easiest defense I found was to grab the spade, dig a block out, then make a trench 2 tiles deep (or use the pickaxe and dig out 1 tile deep and put block in front of the trench, but those block can get shot much more easily.

It seems people can't figure it out though.

Also, I hate it when people build defenses that can easily benefit the other team. If you're going to build a bunker on flat ground build a foundation and have the bunker be elevated so the enemy can't just shoot out from the holes at you... or something.

I remember the time where i was trying to sneak behind the lines with a newer player, we went to some unguarded swampy land, then we found a mountain, wich we digged into, all the way to a brigde, to get the intel.. but then he began shooting some guys who were repairing the base, wich spotted us, we took an alternate route, but then i accidently collapsed a large spot of grass, spotting us, we were dead the next second..

So, if no one knows a way to use Hamachi or EasyVPN or whatever,

Can someone at least explain how I should go about portforwarding UDP 32887? I've used a program that does it automatically, that has always worked, but apparently that's not working.

I turned off my windows firewall and added an exception just in case.

I have no other firewalls.

But programs and websites still tell me my port is not open.

And every time I try to host a server, it seems to work fine, but I can't join it.
