Damn, I loved Commander Keen. And Doom, Wolfenstein and other classic games.

I miss the old days of gaming.

Hmm, thats a tough one, but I think it was Donkey Kong on the coleco vision. If it wasnt that, then it was Galaga on the Nintendo.  Either way it was around 5 or something like that. Damn, that was a LONG time ago. :/

My first game? Probably something like 'ARCADE' on the Atari 2400.. If we go into a real game, more then likely 'Dreadnoughts' for the C64. I loved that game, and I probably knew more about WWII then anyone else in kindergarten. :)

The first Prince of Persia, my dad brought it to me on this big ass diskette (not floppy, the other one, can't remember the name), played the shit out of it with an old flightstick using the fire button to attack and the second fire button to jump, was fun as hell but also hard, i remember i couldn't get past the third level i think which had this huge gap that i just couldn't jump over.

Those were still floppy disks. It's just that they used to have 8" and 5 & 1/4" floppy disks that were actually floppy, thus the name, before they came out with the little 3.5" diskettes.

Crap, this is the kind of stuff I'll be telling my grandkids while they look at me and assume I'm just making it all up in my cane-wielding senility, isn't it?

Yeah it was that middle one, it was quite soft and bendy X)
Ah those were the good days, when my PC had two buttons for turning on and a lock if you wanted to prevent anyone from turning it on, too bad it just refused to work one day :(

It could have actually been pong.

But not like, 'pong',  the atari game, but 'pong', the C64 cartridge which may not have actually been called 'pong'. Parents probably thought we could use the C64 paddle easily enough, I suspect.

Oh, Commander Keen was great.

Damn dopefish...

I enjoyed it a lot!

And yet...it actually wasn't very good at all by modern standards.  :O  The controls were awful!  It was a creative game, which was great, and I loved the hell out of it, but it was one of those 'not much to compare it with' things.  And hard just for the sake of being hard, it seemed like, sometimes.

hmm...

Mario/Duckhunt dual cartridge on the NES.

There's a tragedy that comes after, but none of you will hear that part.

My earliest memory is my first experience with a video game.

I was 2 1/2 and my dad was still in school.  It was in this science lab with a big laser hanging from the ceiling, and I was sitting in his lap playing Frogger on the computer which was meant to control the laser.

My first game I ever remember was on DOS, a lemonade stand game.

The first memorable game was on the Genesis, Phantasy Star IV.

I think mainly it was interesting because it was so weird. And when I was six years old, playing as a kid running around on alien worlds with a raygun and a football helmet seemed awesome.

Yeah, back in ye olden days of lore programmers used to do that 'challenging' thing to us more often. The coders of old were sadistic bastards.
